Boutique hotel in the center of town. It has a very hip vibe. The only issue we had was room service. The food is ordered and delivered from neighboring restaurants. Hence, the food did not match up to the quality of the hotel. I saw European & American business travelers and aging Euro hipsters buzzing around the lobby.

We spent three nights over New Years at the Jia. We stayed in the two bedroom penthouse which was great. Large living room surrounded by two decent sized bedrooms, one huge bath and the other adequate. There was also a kitchen and dining area.
But the best part of the Jia was the ambiance. Whether it was the "see you tomorrow" from the waiter at breakfast, or the wine and munchies at cocktail hour you felt like you were staying at a friend's house. The location is great - lots of restaurants and shops next door. Issimo - their Itailian restaurant was very good but expensive.
One afternoon our daughters remarked to the manager how much they liked the cake at tea. Upon returning to our room after dinner there was a whole cake compliments of the restaurant.
Would reccomend the Jia highly - especially if you are staying for more than a day or two.

I stayed 3 nights and it was really a breath of fresh air after I stayed at the Hilton for my previous trip to Shanghai. It's a beautifully done hotel, without the drawback sometimes you find in boutique hotels.

was lucky enough to stumble upon this nice little hotel..good value, excellent service, and was upgraded to a suite upon check in!..good restuarant and happy hour..would defintely stay there again on the next trip..internet is a bit slow though..hopefully they will improve that in the future
