“Nice people, nice hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 March 2010

My daughter and her friends spent the night here last week enroute to Florida for spring break. They had two rooms on the fifth floor next to one another. Got the rooms on Priceline for $59 each. Very convenient to RiverChase Mall. They also said that the staff were extremely nice to them. One person traveling with my daughter said it was the best bed they had ever slept in in their whole life. Did self park for $9. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

“Very nice hotel with with great shopping opportunities.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 March 2010

My wife had a convention and we stayed here two nights. Our stay was relatively uneventful.
The hotel is in The Galleria so there was plenty to do during the day. The beds were very comfortable. Rooms were clean. We got a good convention rate so I felt it was very reasonable for this nice of a hotel.
The concierge got us reservations at a nice restaurant downtown as well as he called for a cab to get us there. Everything went real smooth.
The only negative I would have is I had to pay $9.95 per day for internet access. For this class of a hotel I would expect internet to be included. However, I was wrong.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and was very satisfied with this hotel. We will certainly return for future conventions as well.

“They took good care of me!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 February 2010

This is a beautiful and elegant hotel which is very comfortable, but what really makes it grand is the staff. True southern hospitality abounds at The Wynfrey. When I became ill (which is always a bit scary when traveling) the room service staff member took note and told the hotel manager who promptly called my room to check on me. When he found out that I needed to go to urgent care or the ER, and I was traveling alone, he immediately offered to have his bellman take me wherever I needed to go. I have never experienced such warm hospitality in a hotel before and it really meant a lot to me. I am looking forward to an uneventful visit to Birmingham in the future and you can be certain I will be staying at the Wynfrey.

“Great Location, Great Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2010

If you're looking for another cookie-cutter type of hotel in Birmingham, this hotel isn't for you. If you're looking for a unique hotel that is grand, has class, has a good location south of Downtown, then you found it in the Wynfrey hotel.

This is a big hotel with lots of glass, brass, and marble. It is grand in every sense of the word. It can seem a little dated when comparing to newer hotels, but I didn't mind that. I was interested in the location for the business I had nearby. It has easy access to I-459 and I-65, as well as US31 Montgomery Highway, so for me it was easy to find.

Inside, the sleeping rooms are large and they have, in my opinion, the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in. And I mean better than the big brand hotels too. Other comforts included the concierge club on the top 2 floors. I paid a little extra for the upgrade, but it included breakfast and evening hors doeveres. The Concierge who works there in the morning is super friendly and attentive. There is also a Shula's steakhouse in the hotel, which is second to none for service and food. Room service was also good, and I think some of the same items on the Shulas menu was available from room service. Every employee I walked past was friendly and said hello or something, which was impressive. That's not always the case in some hotels.

I did have to pay for parking and internet access.

If you like to shop or just walk around malls, this hotel is connected to the Riverchase Galleria mall.
