The best part of this hotel was the lobby. Upon arrival bed linens were found to be "not changed" because someones "personal" effects were left on the bed sheets. We requested the bed linens to be changed. We left the room to go to the mall and shop, but being a nurse I was leary enough to "mark" the sheets in a discreet place to assure that the sheets had actually been changed since we were leaving the room. The air was not working in this room either. When we returned the room was nicely "cleaned" with fresh bed linens we assumed. To my surprise when I checked the sheets for my markings they were still there making it obvious that only the "problem" had been removed and the beds straightened not changed. This was reported to the front desk and we were given another room with a minimal rate discount for this very unacceptable customer service. Once in the new room I received a call from the lady in houskeeping and was told very rudely that "She could guarantee that these sheets were changed". Obviously she had been reprimanded and also was unaware that I had the marked sheets and did know that they had not been changed. The sheets in turn were taken to the front desk and the situation was discussed with no resolution, apology or room rate adjustment. 2nd night was ok, but 1st night tarnished their image with me. Beds were small, charged for parking, charged for internet usage (who does that anymore), no continental breakfast, decor outdated. For the price of a night here I could have, and will from now on, stay at the Hampton for two nights with free parking, free internet, free continental breakfast and great customer service. The mall is really their only boasting feature and I would rather drive a little way to the mall than pay an outrageous rate for substandard experience here.
