I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel during a 10 day trip to Russia. I would highly recommend it to anyone. The staff is super, especially Olga, Alena, and Julia at the front desk. I really put them thru the paces in getting help with quite a few things, and the came thru very well each time. There is free hi-speed wi-fi in the lobby, a definite plus. I am very familiar with Moscow, and found the location, a bit off Tverkskaia (behind the mayor's building), one of the main "drags", to be quite nice and quiet. Admittedly, it was a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest Metro, but then one had very charming neighborhoods all around.
The actual lobby/courtyard was very open and relaxing...quite different than what I experienced during a 2 day visit to St. Petersburg and the Courtyard there, where there was virtually no place to relax outside one's room.
Also, a VERY nice fitness center...they actually "under-advertise" as having free weights, but actually have a full range of weight training equipment in addition to elliptical trainers...
Do NOT, however, count on getting coffee in the lobby...their very nice "cafe" charges $7 for a small (European-style) coffee...there is a nice "Coffeemania" right down the street next to the Tchaikovski Conservatory!
