The hotel is located a 10-minute walk from Aomori Station (not the Shinkansen stop; the older station) and was easy to find. The front desk staff was very efficient and spoke good enough English to get us situated without stress.
Unfortunately, the moment we stepped out of the elevator into the 8th floor hallway we were hit with a strong smell of slightly toasted dust, the smell you get from a central heating system the first time it turns on after a long period of disuse. The dust smell was everywhere, including in our room. We got used to it after a few minutes, though when we went out and came back we noticed it again.
Maybe it's just a matter of bad timing since none of the other reviews seem to mention it; we might have arrived just after they did some work on the place. Other than the dust, the hotel was decent enough for the kind of hotel it is: a smallish but efficiently-laid-out room as is typical for Japanese non-luxury hotels, free wired Internet access, and a larger-than-average bathroom.More
