Although this hotel is number one on Tripadvisor, when booking it from Luxor I was slightly dubious as how it could be so good and yet such great value. However, I was pleased to find up the hotel did indeed live up to its reputation and its name. Arriving during a freak storm after a 16hour journey on the bus from Luxor, the staff couldn't have been more helpful sorting us out a late breakfast and letting us check in early.

The hotel is gorgeous, a lovely palm fringed pool looking out over the Gulf of Aqaba to the mountains of Saudia Arabia, set against a backdrop of cliffs. We were even more surprised to find a fantastic reef in front of the hotel and we actually enjoyed snorkelling there just as much as off Ras Abu Gallum (a day trip we organised via the hotel). The rooms were clean, with aircon, a flatscreen TV, balcony and fridge. Despite reading reviews about small showers ours was fine with a raindrop and normal shower on offer.

The restaurant was delicious and a couple of times we chose to eat there instead of in town. The Egyptian buffet night which runs on a Wednesday was probably some of the best food we had in Egypt and breakfast was also plentiful and delicious!

In terms of location, it feels slightly isolated which is what we wanted and the hotel isn't overlooked. The only feedback I'd offer is that given that the hotel is out of town, a free shuttle bus wouldn't go amiss in high season. As it was quiet, we didn't mind paying a bit extra to hop in and out of town. Also, the wireless internet was a bit ropey upstairs but accessible from the reception/pool area.

All in all, a great boutique choice with 4 star facilities at 2 star prices! Definately the place to go if you want a relaxing location to enjoy the beauty of Sinai from.

We absolutely loved our stay at the hotel, the staff were friendly, the food good, quiet enough to feel very spacious around the pool, snorkelling close by and it was a lovely relaxing atmosphere, especially being a 10 minute taxi ride away from Dahab itself.

Such a wonderful place.
The pool is perfect, the staff are lovely and helpful - nothing is too much trouble for them. The atmosphere is so laid back - quite a contrast to what we saw elsewhere in Dahab.
The rooms are small and fairly basic, but well-designed. But anyway, why would you be spending any time stuck inside in a place like this?! Every room has it's own balcony / terrace - perfect for a beer at sunset...
Amazing snorkelling at the reef directly in front of the hotel, as well as numerous great spots up and down the coast - Saeed at the dive centre is really helpful and enthusiastic.

The only improvement I'd make (as someone who's a bit allergic to air conditioning) is to have the option of ceiling fans in the rooms.... This isn't a criticism - just personal choice!

All in all, a pretty perfect week - thank you to everyone at Dahab Paradise for making it so great!

Set in lovely gardens, with generous balconies and gorgeous views across the Red Sea to Saudi Arabia, the Dahab Paradise is easily the prettiest hotel in town.

But it's the little extras like incredibly helpful staff (who never complained about my OH's incessant requests for toast, 'very thin' pizzas and stupendous numbers of boiled eggs at breakfast) the library of paperbacks which guests can dip into and the towels sculpted into a different animal each day which merit it's No. 1 status.

The buffet style breakfast includes fresh fruit salad and yogurt (very nice with honey), and whilst we didn't eat many other meals at the hotel, whatever we had was good, and the salads excellent. The dining room is a shaded terrace with coastal views of the town in the distance.

Our room wasn't overly large, but this was compensated for by a very large balcony, with plenty of room for lounging about. There was a TV and fridge, which both worked well and 2x Wi-Fi networks, but no phone. The bathroom would benefit from more storage space and the water pressure was very, very low (maybe it would have been better on the ground floor?). A bedside table and lamp on either side of the bed would also have been good, as my OH also likes to read occasionally and have somewhere to put his watch...

There is a reef immediately outside the hotel which was full of interesting stuff to look at. I hired the requisite snorkeling gear from the resident diving instructor, who again was helpful and encouraging. However, I wouldn't recommend that complete novices go out to explore it on their own as I did - as it's very difficult wading in and out, and tricky putting on your gear in the water unless you're well practiced!

Dahab is about a mile and a half away, but it's only the equivalent of about £1.50 GBP by taxi, and this is more than compensated for by the peace and quiet of the location.

We very much enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to other people.

Definitely the best hotel in Dahab. The perfect location. Far enough from town to be a peaceful haven yet close enough to pop into the heart of Dahab in minutes in a cab. Lovely rooms, gorgeous pool and fantastic helpful staff who made everything so easy for us. The perfect stay. We will definitely be coming back.
