Having been visiting Haandi for over 15 years, the concept, service and food has not changed. In the case of Haandi, this is a good thing because they have always served excellent North Indian Food. The food is heavy, and not something you would eat regularly, but a special treat, it is truly worth visiting.
They have tasty tandoor's (food baked in clay ovens), curry's (chicken, vegetarian, mutton, fish and seafood), various rice dishes, and breads. The food is all about communal dining. Order several starters and main courses and share them on your table.
We always start off with masala papad (poppadums), and then have a few tandoor dishes (chicken tikka, paneer tikka), and move onto the main courses (chicken makhani (butter chicken), amritsari fish (fish fillets coated in gram flour, shallow fried with a sauce), palak paneer, dhal makhani and so on) with a variety of naans and rice.
Service is always good and efficient. The restaurant does feel a bit dated and could do with a facelift.
