This hotel was very peaceful, quiet and a quick getaway from the busy city centre. The staff was incredibly professional and accomodating. It is considered "far" from the city, however, there is a free shuttle twice a day. Perfect for couples and those who like to escape the heat by going for a swim! Never felt I was missing anything. The place has charm!

Room tip: The standard room is enough. The view and location of the garden room is plenty pretty compared to the more expensive river views.

I've joined tripadvisor to write this review! I'll start with the only thing that may put you off. It's a little out of town. About a 15 minute drive. HOWEVER! The hotel provides two shuttles a day. One at 10:30am and one at 6:00pm. You've got to get yourself back again but it's only 150 Baht. Also, for us, part of the appeal of the place is that it's tucked away in it's own little corner by the river.

The room was beautiful, clean and tidied everyday. The view was fantastic and you feel as though you're the only ones there. The pool is amazing. It's so quiet and you can order drinks to the pool or river side.

The staff are friendly and efficient. The Breakfast was simple but is included in the price so I cannot complain. The wifi is available everywhere. The soap in the room is tied up in string! Every detail is considered.

We spent my birthday there and at 25, it was the best birthday I've ever had!!! The shuttle in the morning allows you to spend the whole day getting lost in Chiang Mai.

Anniversary, birthday or just to treat yourself, Lanna Mantra is a must!

Room tip: Ask for a river view room when you book. Best view and quietest.

Taking the longish taxi ride from the airport was a little unnerving, until we arrived at the hidden gem of Lanna Mantra. We were greeted by friendly staff with a cool fruity drink and had help with our bags. The room was beautiful and fairly large and comfortable. Pool was clean and refreshing after a long hot day. Breakfast was nice and made to order along with fresh local fruit and several juices. Hotel provided shuttle service to the night market a few times a day. They also were very helpful even with the language barrier. I Loved that this place was off the beaten path and not in the busy/loud city. I will stay here again when I come back.

Room tip: I had a room facing the river and pool area. It was really nice to sit on the balcony in the early morning and look at the peaceful view and hear the exotic sounds of nature. Get one of the river view rooms upstairs.

Beautiful Lanna style hotel next to the Ping River. About 10 minutes (150-250 baht) out of town. I had a superior room overlooking the pool and river (well worth the additional cost). Room was huge, had a balcony, fridge and lots of functioning power points and good solid WiFi connection - and a few lizards to add to the ambiance! Very comfortable. Great place to relax and chill after a morning site seeing ahead of an evening shopping eating drinking partying etc. Two free one way taxis into town each day (morning and evening). Bikes are available and the local shops (Tesco Lotus and 7-11 are 5 mins flat ride away). Hard to find any fault with this place and will stay again when next in Chiang Mai.

NOTE: Don't assume the taxi/tuk tuk drivers in the city know where this hotel is - I was delivered to the wrong hotel twice!! - be patient and make sure you have the card from the hotel with you at all times!!

Room tip: Pay for the upgrade to the best rooms - upper floor overlooking the river - its well worth the very small additional charge

We are two ladies in late middle age who are checking out of here tomorrow after 5 blissful days. This hotel is everything you could ask for, it is clean, the staff are very helpful, our room was lovely, it overlooked the river and the view was serene and sublime. At night the grounds are beautifully lit, and during the day it is pleasant to while away a few hours just watching the river and the occasional boat going past. The food, while not spectacular, was really tasty and we enjoyed it all. The buffet breakfast is huge and just keeps on coming! The staff sorted out taxis and tours for us making sure we weren't overcharged. All in all, a very positive experience and we would both come back in a heartbeat.
