What a beautiful hotel and we got to spend 3 nights in it! The open spaces are magnificent--the biggest lobby I have every seen. Musicians play traditional Nepalest music in the evening. The outside looks like a lovely Buddhist monastery with large grounds (including vegetable/herb garden) and a fantastic swimming pool. The hallways to the rooms require you to slide your key--good secuity. The rooms are nicely decorated in an oriental style but they are a little worn around the edges. The bed was comfortable. The TV was an old fashioned one with a bad picture. The bath was huge with a tub and shower and came supplied with robes and slippers. The first day we had poor hot water but that changed for the rest of our stay. The second day we only got one hand towel and washcloth so I had to raid the supply cart. We got prompt hair dryer repair when requested. I couldn't figure out how to work the AC/heat. There was no clock radio. Again short power outages were the norm. The buffet breakfast was excellent if tea service was a little slow. The two story Rox bar is beautiful with stacked stone pillars. Subash was an exemplary bartender. Since this is a Hyatt expect expensive prices for everything. You can take back streets to a lovely shopping area around the world's biggest stupa and avoid the traffic.More
