We found accom a bit tough to find for a family of 4 that would not break the bank. Apartments are a fabulous option. So far we have rented Warsaw, krakow and Budapest. Old town apartments (Orange Piwny) pros- the size was huge; 2 large rooms, simple but adequate furnishing, nice tile and wood flooring, high vaulted ceilings. Location was a pro and con. Being right in the old town was great, close to all the scene- the con however was that it can also be loud whatever the time of day or night. If it is warm, you need the windows open, so it can get loud. Amenites were adequate. All new appliances. Office was about 2 kms away from the apt. so without a phone it was a hassle to coordinate check in. The office is also not very easy to find - the entrance is around the back, not off the main street (Nowy Swiat). Service was ok and checkout was easy (did not have to go back to office). Again, best deal was size of unit, location, value- new and modern.

We were looking for the apartment in the Old Town of Warsaw. And Piwna Yellow turned to a really spacious and clean apartment for 3 adults. It has full-equiped kitchen (unfirtunately we didn't have time to use coffee machine) and a great old cathedral view. There we've found everything we need in - hairdryer, towels, iron, even tea&coffee. So there's no worry about.
As for geography - it is the VERY center of the city. Try "Zapiecek" restaurant with Polish soup "zurek" and hot honey spirit "medovina". Also the main coffee, souvenirs, dining street Nowy Swiat is in 5-minute walk.
What is really cool in their service - you do not have for check-out procedure, just take your luggage and close the door.

We stayed at Piwna Orange apartment - just half a block from the Royal Castle and a block or so from Old Town square. Great choice. The only somewhat problematic thing is parking (if you have a car), but usually one can find a spot on Podwale, about a block away.
Apartment was 3 rooms and an open kitchen. All nicely equipped including washer and a dishwasher. Beautiful modern bathroom, nice and comfortable (although somewhat spartan) bedrooms. Cable TV, coffee maker, microwave - all the basics. One warning - the neighbors are a bit nosy, but just don't pay any attention to them.
Location is perfect - can't dream of a better one. And the price was great, too. For the 4 of us to rent 2 separate hotel rooms would be much more and without the amenities we had there. It's not a hotel, so no room service or pool, but you feel like you own the place for a few days.
Would definitely recommend you look at renting this place if you're staying a few days in Warsaw. We'll be back there for sure.

We stayed at apartment M15 (Ul. Chmielna) for 7 days. On arrival we found a large stain on the sofa that look like semen. On the second day we noticed dog poo on the steps near the entrance. This had not been cleaned by the time we left.
The main bed was very unconfortable - the worst we ever experienced. After a few nights we decided that it is much more confortable to sleep on the sofa.
On our arrival the telephone was not working and it took several day to fix it. The toilet seat was not tightened to the base properly and the tap in the kitchen sink was loose - not properly attached to the sink.
