Can't beat the breakfast included! Nice to have a familiar place when travelling here. Unfortunately I am a picky eater as I ocassionally have stomach issues. The breakfast and the odd room service meal helped make my visit to Trinidad great. Whatever your Holiday Inn Express is like at home, that's what it's like here.

Very conveniently located (5 minutes from POS Airport, free Shuttle available), rooms are rather expensive but clean and large.
I got a "suite" with the sight completely obstructed by the motor lobby's columns and roof, comfortable bed, noisy air conditioner.
A minibar would be welcome, there is no restaurant or bar.
Avoid laundry service (outsourced), worst experienced.

location appears poor at first, but the outstanding shuttle service soon makes the location excellent. Five minutes to the nearby mall or to the golf course which has an outstanding restaurant. The rooms were excellent with internet access and cable t.v.. The most outstanding quality, however, was the staff. I have NEVER stayed in a hotel with such an overall excellent staff. Before we left, I felt that we had made at least a dozen new friends. They worked hard to resolve any problems or difficulties: although I am sure many of our requests were outside their job description. If I return to TT, and I hope to very soon, I will stay there.

The Holiday Inn Express Trincity is a convenient 5 minutes from the POS airport. When you fly in, be sure to take the free hotel shuttle because even this short drive will cost you $17 USD! That exhorbitant rate may have only been because i arrived around 8 or 9 pm, but still...insane.

Speaking of the shuttle, this is a fantastic service! The hotel is located very near the largest mall in Trinidad. It's nothing fabulous, but it's a nice mall with a good food court (which you'll need because while the hotel offers a hot breakfast, they do not have a restaurant on site.) and plenty of stores and a movie theater. The shuttle was available to take you to and from the airport or mall any time. REALLY helpful!

Service at the front desk was helpful and polite. The hotel itself is quite nice and i have no complaints regarding decor or cleanliness. I do wish that there was better signage for the pool/gym/business center/ice etc. because there was nothing in the hallways or in the elevator to tell you where things were located, which i found odd.

Rooms were perfectly pleasant although i do wish there was better lighting. But that is a problem in almost any hotel room/bathroom. The shower was fine and had plenty of hot water and pressure.

Comfy bed, decent wifi, nice pool area, and as I mentioned before, a fulfilling breakfast including breads, yogurt, fruit, cereal, juice, eggs, and a hot meat dish that changed daily.

Overall, i was very happy with this hotel. It isn't within walking distance to any other attractions as it sits within a gated industrial park type area, but it felt secure and was convenient to get to the airport even in bad traffic, which is something you'll most definitely have to deal with if you choose a hotel in the city of Port of Spain.
