The Holiday Inn Express Trincity is a convenient 5 minutes from the POS airport. When you fly in, be sure to take the free hotel shuttle because even this short drive will cost you $17 USD! That exhorbitant rate may have only been because i arrived around 8 or 9 pm, but still...insane.

Speaking of the shuttle, this is a fantastic service! The hotel is located very near the largest mall in Trinidad. It's nothing fabulous, but it's a nice mall with a good food court (which you'll need because while the hotel offers a hot breakfast, they do not have a restaurant on site.) and plenty of stores and a movie theater. The shuttle was available to take you to and from the airport or mall any time. REALLY helpful!

Service at the front desk was helpful and polite. The hotel itself is quite nice and i have no complaints regarding decor or cleanliness. I do wish that there was better signage for the pool/gym/business center/ice etc. because there was nothing in the hallways or in the elevator to tell you where things were located, which i found odd.

Rooms were perfectly pleasant although i do wish there was better lighting. But that is a problem in almost any hotel room/bathroom. The shower was fine and had plenty of hot water and pressure.

Comfy bed, decent wifi, nice pool area, and as I mentioned before, a fulfilling breakfast including breads, yogurt, fruit, cereal, juice, eggs, and a hot meat dish that changed daily.

Overall, i was very happy with this hotel. It isn't within walking distance to any other attractions as it sits within a gated industrial park type area, but it felt secure and was convenient to get to the airport even in bad traffic, which is something you'll most definitely have to deal with if you choose a hotel in the city of Port of Spain.

Clean hotel, breakfast is good, no on site kitchen/resturant/bar, very close to the airport, shuttle will take you to the mall and airport, rooms are nice, middle of nowhere, great for traveling people on business not looking for frills, horrible for a 'vacation'.

I selected this hotel for the for the convenience of an early flight and the availability of an airport shuttle. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff is pleasant and helpful. It is pricey but I found the whole country expensive and not worth the money, so it is not out of line. The adjacent golf course looks easy but is difficult because of multiple ditches crossing the fairways. You have to calculate distances as well as control direction. The food at the golf course (which provides room service to the hotel) is excellent.

It was a nice little hotel with comfortable rooms well done up, clean and tidy. The only con was that there was no in house restaurant to eat there. Room service was only from the nearby mall restaurants and unnecessarily expensive. Luckily breakfast was served in the coffee room next to the lobby.
