Vaughan Lodge in Lahinch, Co. Clare was a real find in the Surf mecca of the west of Ireland. We wanted to find something a little more "chic" and "upmarket" than what was mostly available in the area to the surfing fraternity and family style accomodation choices on offer . And this was it. From the moment we parked the car in the car park to walking into the foyer to be greeted by a friendly receptionist who was most hospitable and cheerful. The room was large and cozy with quite plush furnishings and THE most comfortable bed. We were able to hook up to the Wi Fi very easily, too. The breakfast in their dining room was certainly a highlight and their buffet set up and choice was 1st class. The setting of the Lodge is nicely situated on the western outskirts of Lahinch in its own grounds - so slightly away from the hustle n bustle of the main streets. In the absence of tea/coffee making facilities in the room, a quick call to reception and we had hot brewed coffee delivered to the room within minutes. Fab! A little gem away from the hubba bubba alright.
