“Will stay there again & recommend to others”

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel - and loved it. Very comfortable rooms - kingsize & single bed in room - power shower in bathroom - just on the edge of town - just a 5 minute walk to the main street. Food excellent, we were booked in for B&B and one evening meal - and thoroughly enjoyed all of it. Helen on reception very pleasant & helpful - Breege served us in the dining room for dinner - again very pleasant and chatty without being intrusive on our evening.
I have no negative comments to make about this hotel and look forward to staying there again sometime.

“Vaughan Lodge Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 June 2010

We travelled with some friends to Lahinch and had the pleasure to stay at Vaughan Lodge. From start to finish it truly was a very happy and relaxing experiance. The level of service we recieved and the appointment of rooms and bar / restaurant areas were top class and was way above my personal expectation. The food quality was excellent and having used the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner was more than happy with both the variety and quality of what was on offer. The owner Michael was able to help us organise a local excursion at very late notice for the girls while the boys played golf nearby , what a professional , ,and charming host he is too.All in all I do not know when ever i shall return to Lahinch again but one thing is for sure I am 100% sure where I am going to stay"Vaughan Lodge"

“great hotel- great food- great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 June 2010

We loved this hotel- the staff were fantastic, friendly, helpful.
The best meal we had in all of Ireland. The rooms are comfortable, not fancy, clean.
The walk into town was easy.
Would return again in a heartbeat!

“Really more for golfers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2010

This is a nice hotel but it really is a hotel that you could find in almost any city in the world. Unlike so many other Irish accommodations, it doesn't capture any of the charm or character of the country. There are some historical prints on the walls but little else.

This is the perfect hotel for the golfers who come to play the nearby courses; less so for leisure travelers.

While some reviewers mentioned the sea view, be aware that the view is minimal. You should not come to Vaughn's for the view. The hotel was almost empty the night we were there -- eerily so. In fact, we saw no other guests while we were there and we did not see anyone eating in the restaurant or in the bar. Breakfast in the morning was minimal. One scone and one roll left on the buffet.

It is near the Cliffs of Moher and the surfing areas of the town. Overall, it is an adequate place to stay but nothing more than that.

We are very disappointedwith this review. As committed hoteliers we like to please out guests. If you are looking for a nice twee olde worlde hotel or Inn, Vaughan Lodge is definitely not in this genre. The hotel is only 5 years old and offers low key modern comfort. Many of our clients are golfers who rise early and are out and about that sometimes gives the impression of an empty house!!. The Breakfast we offer is substantial. For breakfast each morning we have a generous buffet with 7 Cereal choices, 5 Juices, Croissants, Danish, Brown Bread, Scones, Smoked Salmon, Smoked Trout, Ham, Salami, a local Cheese Plate, Prunes and Apricot, Fresh Yoghurt, a Fruit Bowl, and Banana Bread. Hot breakfast choices are Full Irish, Omlettes, Fish of the Day, Kippers and any choice of eggs you wish. The Hotel never claims to be a waterside hotel. We do not charge a premium for coast view rooms. Overall the tone of this review is disappointing and we can learn from some of the comments but we realise that our hotel may not be for everyone.
