“Lovely B&B in pretty County Offaly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 June 2010

We stayed at the Aaron House for two nights. Our room was large, comfortable and spotless. Our hosts, Michael and his daughter Robin (his wife Betty who usually manages the B&B was out of town) were absolutely wonderful to us, happy to accommodate and answer every question we had. The breakfast was large and delicious. It's a great place to access the walking and hiking in the Sieve Bloom mountains which we took advantage of. We are very happy we found them and recommend their B&B highly.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2010

My wife and I were stranded due to the volcano and decided to take our rental car west away from the major cities. Aaron House was a perfect refuge for us. Quiet, beautiful, luxurious, friendly, and affordable. Betty was great! The food and lodgings were stellar. We loved the area for the hiking, small town intrigue, and proximity to golf, the castle, and other attractions. We stayed 3 nights and would easily have stayed longer!

“A lovely Irish welcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2010

We stayed in Aaron House, Kinnitty for 2 nights in January and wanted to post a review about what a lovely place to stay Aaron House is. Betty the owner is a lovely host and very hospitable. She looked after us and made us feel very welcome. She made the finest breakfast we've had in Ireland, the room was big and clean, with a lovely view of the farmlands and hills outside. She even put a couple of beers in the fridge for our arrival which was very sweet. Kinnity is a good place to stay with plenty to do around eg walking in the hills, the castle and grounds at Birr, the Tullamore Dew distillery etc. The local pubs are nice and friendly too. Overall it was a lovely stay, so if you are reading this Betty, then a big thank you from us both for a great Irish welcome!

“Aaron House- Look No Further”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2009

Aaron House has fine rooms and great food but the reason to stay here is the incomparable service of Betty and her husband Michael. Our car broke down on the way to Aaron House. Betty drove to get us and met us with hugs. Michael later drove us out to dinner and loaned us a cell phone to call for a ride back. Meanwhile, all that Saturday night and Sunday morning, Betty and Michael were trying to figure out where on a weekend to find us new tires and someone to repair the bent wheel (Thrifty rental was no help). On Sunday morning, Michael found a tire wholesaler who opened his store to sell the tire we needed, and Michael then waited outside the town church to track down another man who he knew had the equipment to mount the tire and repair the wheel. He paid both people out of his pocket first and insisted on mounting the repaired tire himself. Also, they loaned us a phone for calls we needed to make and accepted no money for the calls.
Betty and Michael represent the absolute finest in Irish hospitality and I would recommend that if your travels take you within 100 miles of Aaron House that you treat yourselves to their company- it will be the highlight of your visit.

“Really special”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 April 2009

The rooms were very large, clean and the showers had good water pressure. Betty is an absolute delight and the house is wonderful. What a treat after a long day of driving. Beds are large and comfortable, breakfast was cooked nicely. It is amazing more people have not posted reviews on TripAdvisor for this house, this is one of the best places we stayed in our entire trip! If your trip takes you to Birr or Kinnitty you really won't be able to find a better place to stay in this price range than the Aaron House.
