This was absolutely one of the best bed and breakfasts I've ever stayed at in Ireland. My room was immaculate.....you could do surgery in the bathroom - spotless. The Irish breakfast that Nuala served was text book perfect (I was tempted to take a picture of it) and very delicious. Everything fresh and cooked to order. The common areas are clean, beautifully decorated, warm and welcoming. Nuala is the perfect host....warm, friendly and very accommodating. I highly recommend the Pennsylvania House to anyone looking for a high quality bed and breakfast in Letterkenny!

My parents, husband and I recently returned from a two week trip to Ireland. In planning our trip, we reviewed the comments here and decided this was the place for us. Based upon the comments, it was everything we were expected and much more.

Nuala met us at the door and once we had settled in, she asked if we would like some tea or cakes. We decided instead to eat dinner and followed her recommendation - the food was great and at some of the lowest prices we had seen in Ireland.

When we met Nuala and Michael, they told us to feel at home and they were not kidding. They opened their conservatory and their family room to us, so the four of us could enjoy our evening together in conversation and enjoying Britain Has Talent. Nuala keeps a pot of hot water available along with goodies. It truly felt like home.

Being from Arizona, we found the Irish evenings a little cool. When we asked Nuala if she would mind heating the rooms, she quickly returned with very effective radiators that allowed each of us to set the room temperature where we wanted. The bedrooms were impeccably decorated and spotlessly clean. The beds were large and comfortable - really important when 3 of you are over 6 feet tall (almost 2 meters).

Once again with Breakfast - no detail was overlooked and you certainly did no leave the table hungry. It was wonderful.

We found Nuala and Michael to be amazing hosts. They have created a B&B with the best of modern conveniences but have created an amazing charm with all of the little details. Like their home, their hospitality covers every little detail as well - from their open, friendly nature to their willingness to help in anyway. And yet they are not intrusive in anyway - they will spend as little or as much time with you as you want. And there was never a feeling of being rushed. If we have the opportunity to be in the area again, we hope that Nuala and Michael are still in this home so we can once again spend a wonderful time with them.

My boyfriend, his parents and I traveled around Ireland for two weeks. The four of us stayed at many B&B's during the two weeks and the Pennsylvania House was by far the best. Nuala and her husband had a very warm and inviting home. The other B&B's we stayed at were literally very cold, but Nuala knew exactly what we needed and accommodated us.

This was a wonderful experience and I would recommend the Pennsylvania House to anyone.

This was home from home. We started with a very warm welcome and it only got better. The rooms were spotless and the food was excellent. We were given good advice on where to go as it was our first visit to Ireland. Even the weather was kind to us. If you want a
first class stopping off point I cannot recommend this highly enough.
