“Super Hotel, way beyond my expectations!”

I stayed here with my Mum and 2 young boys on the 22nd March for 3 nights. Wow what a super hotel, we got the most fabulous family room with 3 beds and a sittingroom area with cable tv and free internet access plus an ensuite bathroom with bath/shower, lots of extra towels and a large mirror. Our room looked out onto a nearby golf course. The hotel is nestled in a nice quite area with easy access to all the main routes..Avoca handweavers is just 3.5km from the hotel and the Drundrum SC is only a short drive too. We had a very comfortable stay, the beds were super comfy, the breakfast buffet was well stocked with top class, fresh hot and cold foods..with Porridge, homemade smoothies and the most delicious full Irish Breakfast items...Rashers to die for!! But the best of all were the staff they were so friendly, from the receptionist to the accommodation staff but best of all THERESE, wow, I have never come across someone more suited to working in the hospitality sector. She made my boys feel like princes, nothing was too much bother for her. When we got to our room on the first evening she set up a travel cot for my 14month old and went off and got a single duvet to line the cot to make it more comfortable for him. When we went down to eat from the bar menu she brought down table games for the boys to play with and once they were bored with them she entertained them with her warm friendly and natural approach. Because she looked after my boys so well, they had a great stay and I got to relax and enjoy it. I will definitely be returning to this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone else. It would suit a lot of different types of travellers..Business people, families, couples (young and old).

“Fantastic food, let down by poor housekeeping.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 March 2010

Stayed here for one night with my partner to get away from the house as a treat. Was unsure about booking the room, but it looked good on line. We had some bar food while we waited over an hour to check into our room, laundry was late arriving, we were told. When we eventually got to our room, it looked like it had not been vacuumed in an age, and carpet looked like it had been lifted and relaid. There was a leak under the sink and we had to leave a towel on the floor all night. The location of this hotel is fabulous as a base to travel to Bray, Greystones, Enniskerry, Powerscourt, Wicklow and Dublin, and it would have been more pleasant if it were only cleaned properly. Bed was too hard for my liking, but the evening meal was incredible.

Hello, Thank you for your review, I am pleased you agree we have an excellent location to enjoy many areas and activities here in Co. Wicklow. I am disappointed to see your expereince of your room was not as exceptional as it should have been and will be raising this issue with our House Keeper so as to improve on this area and so improve the overall guest expereince at the hotel. It was good to note you enjoyed the food and I would like to thank you for your review as we can learm from this feedback. I hope we have the pleasure of welcoming you back to the hotel in the near future.

Hello,

Thank you for your review I am glad you enjoyed your stay and found it good value for money. I am disaapointed to read you found staff and bar were not as good as you expected and will bear this in mind and examine where we should focus on improving these areas for the overall guest experience as we continually strive to exceed expectations.

“Families to Businessmen all are made feel welcome.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 March 2010

Stayed at this hotel twice within a months time, due to family emergency. This is on the Southern Cross in a town called "Bray" a seaside resort in Ireland on the eastern coast. For such a small town this hotel made us feel welcome no matter who was on the front desk ( and I think we saw them all). The Lobby is open, the furniture modern and comfortable. Big leather chairs and couches for any number party. Our room was cleaned everyday and we had what they call "the family room" because there was 4 of us. A full Irish Breakfast for 10euro could not be beat, (we figure that is where the 4 extra pounds came from). To a full bar menu or dining facility on premise. This is the Hub for the local businessmen, WiFi availability and private meeting rooms. This is a must stay and Brayhead Golf Course a 3 minute drive( up hill) if you book advance you get a discount for next day play, and the Leisure Club with pool a 7 minute walk.

“Second stay - Still great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2010

Spent three days at the Ramada just after Christmas 09 second visit in the year. Got off our ferry from the UK very early in the morning and the hotel already had a room so let us book in early in the morning.
Room was larger than the last time we stayed! Free Wifi was great again, free parking and the beds were superb................. never slept so well. I have trouble sleeping in hotels with an overly warm stagnant hotel rooms, these was fresh and comfortable so no problem here. Again used as a base so didn't use the restarant, can't recommend enough
