“Luck of the Irish brought us to Hill House”

A spur of the moment decision brought us to Cashel. A quick stop at the Visitor Center resulted in us taking a walk "up the hill to the level of the Rock" to have a look at Hill House. After just a few minutes of chatting with the lovely hostess Carmel we knew we had found a jewel on the hill.
Carmel shared with us the history of the house. How she and her family refurbished this incredible house "one room at a time" to its present exquisite condition. Each room was impeccably decorated and immaculate. The spacious gardens were finely manicured and the breakfast was wonderful. The icing on the cake was the breathtaking view of the Rock of Cashel from our upstairs bedroom windows.
Carmel made us feel welcomed and much appreciated our business.
Hope to return again someday. The area was quaint and full of incredible history.

“Phenomenal Stay in Cashel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2009

Carmel Purcell the owner was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were very comfortable and were done beautifully to match the Georgian style of the house. We woke to a lovely breakfast, which had choices of smoked salmon, full Irish breakfast (to name a few) and included fresh baked bread, fresh fruit salad and freshly squeezed juice. We enjoyed the garden and it’s view of the Rock (we used it as the backdrop for our Christmas Card photo). I would highly recommend Hill House for you stay.

“Sweet stay at the Hill House”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2008

Our stay at the hill house was short and sweet. We were just passing through, so unfortunately we stayed just one night at this lovely Georgian mansion perched above Cashel but just a quick walk to town. There were four of us traveling together so we had two rooms, both furnished with antiques. One has the most amazingly high ceilings and a canopy over the head of the bed. The other room was enormous, with a four-poster bed and a striking view of the Rock of Cashel. There is an attractive sitting for guests and free wifi as well. Delicious breakfasts are served in a pretty dining room. The photos on the hotel web site are accurate. A previous poster mentioned the fruit pancakes and I agree, they were superb, and after a week's worth of full Irish breakfasts I was relieved to have a non-egg option. The B&B owner, Carmel, was quick with suggestions for nearby dining and very helpful and personable.

“Great B&B”

My wife and I just returned from a week in Ireland and we started with two nights at Hill House. It is a classy house that is well maintained with a spectacular view of the Rock of Cashel. The rooms were very clean and nicely appointed. Dining room for breakfast is elegant and the food was excellent. Staying at Hill House was a good start to a vacation in Ireland.

“Best Fruit Pancakes in the world”

It was our first trip to Ireland and I had booked B&B's from information over the internet, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Hill House was absolutely lovely. The room was large with a huge four poster bed that looked like something out of a fairytale. Everything was immaculate and clean. The grounds were amazing. Looking out our window we saw the Rock of Cashel during the day and at night it was all lit from below. It was so spectacular that it looked like someone had painted it on a backdrop.
The breakfast was fabulous and we ate the best pancakes filled with fresh fruit that either of us had ever eaten. My husband's pancakes are famous in Canada, but these were outstanding. The room was priced reasonably and the owners were so friendly, helpful, and caring. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, even those with the most expensive tastes.
