“Stanley House is a Wonderful Place!”

My wife and I stayed at Stanley House for 4 nights May 22-26, 2010. It is a wonderful place run by exceptionally nice people. We stayed in Quarry House which is a 2 bedroom house across from the main B&B. Quarry House was extremely comfortable, clean, well decorated and furnished. It was very private and quiet and had a washing machine/dryer. Nancy Brosnan is a very sweet and caring lady and she takes great interest in and care of her guests. Her husband has another business in town but took the time to help out some other guests who were experiencing mechanical problems with their bicycles. This was not insignificant since this couple were bicycling across Ireland and it was their only mode of transportation. Nancy's breakfast is stellar and she presents an actual menu to choose from. Her fruit cup served with a side of yogurt is a work of art. The B&B location is an easy 10-15 minute walk into Schull. Or Nancy can tell you the longer scenic route called the Foreshore Path through the pretty Schull cemetery overlooking the harbor and then down along scenic Schull Bay into town. Stanley House has a beautiful setting with views out to the bay from the enclosed back porch. You can also see the Brosnan's herd of red deer grazing in the fenced pastures below the house. Two baby deer were born while we were there! Stanley House is in a very bucolic and tranquil setting close to Schull. This trip to Ireland and England was our 5th and lasted 5 weeks. We stayed in a total of 12 B&Bs this trip and Stanley House was among the very best on any of our trips. We heartily recommend Stanley House.

“Beautifully located B&B with gracious hostess”

Very comfortable B&B with gracious and friendly hostess. Lovely view of Schull Harbor and the town is easy walking distance. Great base for exploring surrounding area. Breakfast was very good and ample. First floor, and easily accessible, room had great view of harbor. Expansive garden was exceptionally lovely and cared for. Flowers everywhere around house.

“I like everything about this B&B”

I like everything about Stanley House, the position, the views, the lovely gardens to sit out in.
The bedroom was a good size as was the bathroom, there was a TV and tea and coffe making facilities. The presentation of the room was excellent.
The guest lounge was very comfortable with lovely views.
On arrival there was tea and cakes and a friendly welcome.
It is handy for the town either walking or in the car.
Breakfast was very good, lots of choice and of course presentation was excellent.
I could not fault this lovely B&B

“Beautiful view and very high standard for this B&B!”

Every single detail is perfect in this B&B. The view, the bedrooms, the breakfast (we could hardly finish it), the location, the garden, and of course our host!

We were welcomed with a cup of tea/coffee & a piece of cake after our long trip, which we took from the conservatory, looking out at the Bay.

I would highly recommend this place for couples looking for a romantic place to stay.
The food at the Bunratty Inn in the village was really nice.

“Stanley House is a gem.”

We just returned from our fourth trip to Ireland. This trip took us to Schull to and we chose to stay at Stanely House primarily based on the reviews on Trip Advisor. The reviews accurately tell the whole story. Nancy Brosnan runs what must be one of the best managed, warmest B&B’s in the country. Besides the typical high level of amenities such as wonderful beds, clean rooms and baths, Nancy adds genuine enthusiastic warmth and runs Stanley House to her high standards . She is attentive without being at all intrusive; her breakfasts are made individually including delicious ‘Irish Roast’ coffee! The house itself is lovely and modern and the sunroom and porch are comfortable places to gather or read overlooking the beautiful bay. Stanley House is a gem.
