A chance stop for dinner & a pint started a conversation with Sean Collins owner of the Adare Village Inn & Sean Collins Bar. My wife and I told him that we were in Ireland on tour with our bluegrass band, the Annapolis Bluegrass Coalition. We had one free night on the tour and Sean asked us if we would like to perform at his Bar. We took him up on the offer and also stayed in the Adare Village Inn. It was a very good decision for the Adare Village Inn was a great place to stay. Although the rooms were spartan in their appointments, they were clean as a whistle, generous in size, very comfortable bedding and the best showers in all of Ireland. This was the 5th Ireland tour for our band, and we have stayed almost exclusively in B&Bs. While the Adare Village Inn is not a B&b, it was a most memorable stay. And, by the way, did I mention the shower? It was a step in shower, very large, with plenty of hot water and great water pressure and a soap dish. Not one of those corner showers where its so tight that if you drop the soap you have to step out of the shower to have enough room to pick it up. So simple, an American can do it. We average a band tour to Irealnd about every two years, and we will be returning to Adare again and believe me, the Adare Village Inn is where we will stay. Check it out, you'll be glad you did.
