It's a bit hard to write this review as we went to this restaurant on the back of TA rating it so well.
The restaurant itself is plain, even a bit dated & drab. But it's clean & warm.
The food is basic. Not a taste experience, But it's all homegrown or locally sourced & cooked fresh. I'd call it 'mammy dinners'. Wholesome & hearty, but definitely not a taste experience or fine dining.
What this place offers is great value. No sign of rip off Ireland here.
Two brothers run this place. It was a wet dark evening we visited so apart from another couple the place was quiet. Brian who runs front of house & waits tables is a quiet, shy character, while his brother who does the cooking is the chatty one.
They don't profer to be the best place to eat, or have an amazing venue, but do have a keen interest in cooking fresh wholesome food & not overpricing it.
Overall I was a bit disappointed. My husband wouldn't rate the place or it's food at all. I probably expected more seeing it was no1 rated on TA, however it's good value, fresh homecooked food.
