“Great time at Molly Gallivan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2010

We were on our way from Killarney and Kenmare down to Glengariff when we stopped at Molly Gallivan's cottage, quite unexpectedly. Pure serendipity.
We spent a lovely time discovering the cottage and Molly's life in rural Ireland as well as the path behind the cottage taking us back to neolithic times. When you reach the two neolithic stones, bending slightly the knees to align the two sharp tips of the stones to winter solstice like they did 3000 years ago is quite moving. You nearly feel them around you.
A great soup too with lovely scones.
Thoroughly enjoyable. A french family visiting Ireland.

“Best night of our holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2010

This is a fantastic place to visit - a re-enactment of an Irish/American Wake is performed for visitors after a wonderful meal of Soup, Irish Stew and Apple Pie, followed by Irish Coffee. Music, dancing and story-telling/recitations all performed by local musicians and staff - a most enjoyable night out and..............we will definately visit again next year.

“Charming and Fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2010

While on a business trip this past June I had the chance to visit Molly Gallivan's. From the potent Poitin and the delightful storytelling to the traditional Irish music and dance - it was a glimpse into West Cork's past. The house is restored to close to its original form when it was the gathering place for the Irish in the area some 200 years ago for celebrating births, weddings and homecomings. As their guests, you are offered "the chance to dance with the spirits of those who danced on that very floor so very long ago". Quite enchanting.

“Fun stop for the whole family.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2010

This was our first trip to Ireland and our tour guide (Enchanted Way Tours) included this delightful stop. Wonderful to see an authentic working farm that embodies the Irish way of life from long ago. Beautiful local artisan shopping. Great coffee shop with delicious homemade treats. Fabulous views from all areas of the farm. We will definitely stop here again on future trips.

“Wonderful Taste of Ireland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2010

If you are in the Kenmare or Kilarney area of County Kerry, you are only a few miles from one of the most entertaining and historically interesting places in Ireland. On Tuesday nights there is a delicious three-course traditional Irish meal followed by award-winning story telling mixed with live Irish music. All five in our family rated this as the best part of a very active 12-day vacation in Ireland. We laughed, sang along, danced, and were surprised that four hours could pass so quickly (even our 11 year-old son was engaged the entire time). The story-telling is so entertaining, the venue is so intimate (there is room for only about 35 guests), and the owners are very hospitable. The next day we went back and did the self-guided walk around the restored working farm and learned more about life in the early 1800s. This is a class act that is warm, intimate, and not at all "touristy".
