We had some negative points that you have to know,
1 we had problems to arrive to brugge from brussels as there was a strike and no minimum services for transportation to go there. We called the hotel but they didnt colaborate at all not allowing us to change dates to arrive a day later, althoug they did know there was no public transportation and taxis where very dificult to find.
2 then we arrived to the hotel, and the room floor was ful of powder, and below the bed there were balls of dirt.
3 then we went to have breakfast the first day, we asked for scramble eggs and in one of the platesthere was in the egg a big black long hair from the lady that served it. As we were alrready tired of problems we just took it apart. Then the second breakfast we asked for boiled eggs thinking it could be less risk of hair in it, but we were really surprised when one egg came with an other long hair arround it. As it was the second time we told it to the lady, she retaired the egg but then she said there was no hair, what I think is that she has a low eyes capacity. Also the attitude was proud instead of recognizing the mistakes.
The stairs were very dificult and dangerous, location is good at least but in many ways we dont recomend it

Room tip: Do not go to this hotel

We could not fault this place, situated in an old mansion very close the Markt. Breakfast is ample, , healthy and sets you up for the day. Fried eggs come in the shape of a heart. We stayed 3 nights during which the weather was terrible. But the this hotel provides a cosy refuge.

Room tip: Take bus no 3 or 13 which drops off at the end of st Jacobstraat. 2 minute walk to the Alegria Hotel.

Such a lovely, cosy hotel. The rooms were so warm for this time of year and we cannot recommend Veronique highly enough! Upon check in she goes through the map of the hotel, pointing out places of interest. She provided such a tasty breakfast every morning that set us up for the day. With a stike on yesterday (Monday) she did all she could to get us a shared taxi/mini bus to the airport on time.. She goes out of her way to help!
The rooms were so pretty and loads of space. The beds felt so luxurious and perfect for after a long day out being tourists. Loads of toiletries provided and rooms cleaned daily. The wi-fi was also excellent. The hotel is so central also, without being on a noisy street.
We want to thank you so much Veronique for your wonderful hospitality! We have never felt so looked after by a hostess! Aoife & Keith

A small and well run hotel. Veronique was a very helpful and hospitable hostess with good attention to details. She prepared a very good breakfast spread with a variety of quality food for her guests. The rooms were bright and well kept. She was very helpful with her recommendations on the places to eat and information on Bruges.
This hotel is situated in a quiet street which is within walking distance to the main sights.

My partner and myself stayed at the Hotel Alegtia for the last week. We had a very enjoyable time with Veronique being a fantastic hostess. Her level of commitment to our comfort was second to none. Her attention to detail as well as her advice and experience on all things Brugge was exemplary. At breakfast both European and non- Europeans were catered for with good quality food. In 8 weeks of travelling around Europe this hotel was certainly one of the best and would recommend hotel Alegria to any traveller. Bill from Australia

Room tip: Lower level room as the hotel has steep stairs
