Finding nice accomodation in and around Charleroi Airport was not an easy task. Luckily we came across Hotel South on booking.com (55 euros per night as of January 2012) and going by its numerous great reviews on Trip Advisor, decided to stay there. On arrival in Charleroi (9pm) we called the Hotel and within 15 minutes the shuttle bus picked us up.
The Hotel itself is about 8-10 minutes from the Airport and is very convenient for those who need to catch early morning flights. On arrival we checked in and received the TV & Air Conditioning remotes. We hadn't eaten since taking off and we asked at the reception if there was anything open in the area. The receptionist, Jeremie, told us that there wasn't anything close but he offered to drive us over to a petrol station / snackbar by the Airport so that we could get something. We gratefully accepted and thanks again to Jeremie for his gracious manner :)
The room itself was really neat, well laid out and spotless. The bed was comfortable and we never heard any noise from the hallways. All in all we thought it was good value for money.
The only thing I would criticise about the Hotel is the breakfast (which is optional). At 8 euros per person I would really expect more than a selection of juices, croissants, bread and cold meats.
