We stayed at hotel Cimabue for two nights. I liked the place. It's not that far from the downtown area, it takes 10-15 minutes to get to the main sites by foot. Staff was really friendly. The only negative aspect was the breakfast, it was very simple and they didn't have many items to choose from.

Such a charming, quaint hotel. Located about 9long blocks from the train station ... this is a decent walk if you're pulling baggage and it's all slightly up hill! But it is away from the noise of central Florence. The room was decorated in antique wood furniture with a large double door opening out into a sitting area ... mainly for smokers I think! The shower was a bit moldy in the grout, but it did the job! Breakfast was minimal but nice. Service was very nice. It's hard to find as it is located in one half of a building that's shared with offices. But it's worth it.

We arrived at 11:00am, and were told that check in was a ridiculous unheard of 3pm.
Room was really small, Staff were not friendly, absolutely no customer service and rude.
Bathroom way too small. Mosquito's that had been killed by previous customers, all over the walls... absolutely disgusting.
Breakfast was poor, bread rolls and cereal. Staff on duty was too busy talking to the cleaning lady to serve coffee and top up at least the croissants( we never saw any) , after several requests, and after we had finished breakfast she brought us an awful coffee. Check out was 11:00am, when staff was asked about the check in and check out times, she rudely answered " this is how it is all around the world" Really inadequate behaviour, and defineately not customer service orientated.
In my world 11;00am is an early check out and 3pm is called a late check in..!!!
Either way, all 3 staff members are rude, and the service is so so poor.
Would never recommend this hotel, a total waste of money... go elsewhere..

one of the worst hotels i have ever stayed in literally.

When we arrived the man in reception wasn't nice at all. He just told us the check in was at 3pm so we had to leave the bags ( it was around 11am) and go.
They gave us a room in ground floor so if you open the window you could see absolutely everyone, so we stay 5 days!!! with the window close. I think this is terrible!!!

The staff wasn't nice at all. The shower is in one side of the room, separate to the bathroom and is really small. Bathroom so small too.

And, even is not far away from center, you must walk around 15 minutes.

They close at 22, so if you have any problem you must call an emergency phone. No room service, no internet....even it's not one of the cheapest hotels in florence.

I wouldn't recomend it at all.
