Though it's about a 15 minute walk to Ponte Veccio (which leads you to all the main attractions in Florence), Hotel David is not to be beat. The staff here was amazing. They greeted us in perfect English and explained everything from how to take the bus to Ponte Veccio to what sites to see. They also explained the "happy hour" offered everyday (wine, juice, and appetizers), the mini-bar policy (everything in it is free the first time!), and breakfast times (which included eggs, cereal, danish and more). The room was very clean and in a quiet neighborhood. Some rooms have balconies, but even without (as was ours) the room was a good size and more than comfortable). The amenities were fabulous as explained above, plus there is free wi-fi (and a shared computer if you need) and you get one free international call a day per room. Honestly, when we return to Florence, this will be the first place we would look to book!

This hotel is awesome. The staff is amazing and provided great service. The rooms were HUGE by european standards. Everything in the rooms were practical and high quality. The free breakfast was first class, with excellent cappuccino. They also had a happy hour with free Hors d'œuvre and wine. They also provide us with free internet. The staff also set us up with a tour of tuscany. Absolutely great experience!!

I recently traveled to London, Rome, Florence, and Venice with my daughter. The trip was to celebrate her MBA. All of our hotels were great but Hotel David was wonderful. The hotel is lovely and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. They have a cocktail and appetizer gathering each evening and also invite you to call home for free. My daughter and I felt very at home at Hotel David, like we were staying with family. The hotel is immaculate and the breakfast is delicious!

There is not enough wonderful things I can say about Hotel David. From the minute you get there you feel at home. The location is fabulous, lots of great spots near by away from the main tourist areas and yet close enough to walk everywhere. The rooms are huge (and not just for Italy standards). From the delicious breakfast to the free mini bar, free calls to home, free afternoon happy hour, and amazing service this place is a true gem. And while you are there please go cross the way to J Joyce, an Irish pub with free tasty appetizers and cold beer.

My husband is a homebody and even he did not want to leave hotel David. Do not be put off by the fact that it is not in the center of Florence, that is a good thing. The views of Florence walking form Hotel David to Ponte Vecchio are incredible. this is a leisurely walk that we looked forward to taking every day we were there.

Hotel David has something to look at in every corner, attentive staff, and warm atmosphere, and it is those details that make it fabulous. I couldnt imagine staying anywhere else in Florence.
