“Beautiful Hotel in Beautiful City, Will Return”

Hotel Rivoli in Florence, Italy is one of the best Hotels I have stayed at in over 40 years of traveling. Giani, the manager and owner of the hotel, is always available to help with special requests and the staff is among the most hospitable and accomodating I have ever encountered. The Hotel is very nicely appointed, extremely comfortable with a morning breakfast that is again the best I have been offered in my extensive travels. Hotel Rivoli is always cool which is most important for July travelers and very very clean. The location is excellent as you are within 5 minutes walk from the central train and bus station. The neighborhood is safe and interesting with Santa Maria Novella only half a block away from the hotel not to mention one of the best Gelaterias in Florence. Again, a more than wonderful stay and am planning on a return trip already.....Rodney Grisso

“Friendliest breakfast staff you will ever meet!”

The hotel was just outside the center of Florence aka the Duomo. The room was spacious with A/C, a balcony, an awesome shower with jets on the wall (not all rooms), and the bed was pretty good. You could get internet access for 24 hours for 5 euros. The breakfast staff was incredible. They made the start of our day so bright and cheerful. The breakfast spread was also really good. We thought the price of the hotel was a little high, but after staying in a three star you can definitely see the difference. Also there is a restaurant attached to the hotel and they give hotel guests 10% off, but we never ate there.

“wonderful from start to finish”

There were 8 of us ladies of a certain age who have just had the most wonderful holiday in Florence.
The hotel staff were helpful, polite and proffesional at all times. We arrived late and were sorted very quickly. The rooms were fine much bigger than my previous stay in Italy(venice).
A couple of the girls had an issue with the rooms but that was sorted. The rooms were clean and there are plenty of towels, toiletries etc.
The best things for us were the excellent breakfasts with plenty of choice and how nice was it to sit in the garden to have it. We also loved the plunge pool after a hard days sight seeing what a lovely way to cool down.
The reception staff couldn't have been more helpful especially with recommending restarants. We went for the traditional places and loved them all. Try 13 Gobbi, Marione and Trebbio- all wonderful.Special mention for Pina on the bar.
We also booked day trips with sunflower tours and Giovanni was a fantastic guide. We saw places that were truly breathtaking.
All in all a fantastic holiday!

“Good hotel in a great location for the price.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2010

Hotel was in a great location, near train station and within walking distance to all historical sites in Florence. There are plenty of good inexpensive restaurants near hotel, as well as a laundry mat across the street. The staff was helpful, the hotel had great internet service, and the breakfast was very good. If you like the nightlife, this might not be the hotel for you, as some could think the street a little seedy. Since I was traveling with my daughter, we were out of the hotel during the day, and usually had a late dinner near the hotel, and were back in our room by 10 or so. The hotel was run down in areas, but the rooms were adequate, the air conditioning worked, and it was perfect for us. I would recommend this hotel to friends for the price, location, and amenities. If you want to see David, a skip the line ticket in advance is the only way to go. The Uffizi Gallery is worth going to see, as well as the Duomo. We also did a vespa tour of the tuscan countryside through viator that was fantastic. The trains are very easy to use, but go to a ticket machine vs. the ticket counter. We went to Verona, Pisa, and Siena on our own, with no problems.
