We stayed only for 3 nights for the purpose to go to "La Scala" theatre and to see the "Cenacolo" (Last supper) of Leonardo da Vinci. The hotel is beautifully positioned: 3 minutes away from the banking hub of Milan and presumably the international Milan stock exchange; 10 minutes away from the Duomo and a tram opposite the hotel to take you to the Sforza castle and related museum. The hotel provides only breakfast but the rooms cannot be faulted and certainly it is an hotel to keep in mind. Asking the reason why the prices were not advertised in the brochure, the response was that they changed them according to what is going on in Milan and therefore they are on application. This to me is a bit unethical. Breakfast was adequate if one can forget the so called fruit juices that remind one of Koo-lay or very watered down proper orange/grape juices. On the last morning there were no cereals because they had run-out; no effort was made to run across the road and buy a few packs: after all we came down at 9.30am! cold meats, cheese, croissants, bread rolls, jams and butter and yougurts available: I have seen and eaten better breakfasts in a 2 star hotel! There is a bar but is just for show or requirement for the classification: it is not staffed and is serviced by the reception if by the grace of God they have the inclination to help you.The attitude of the reception staff was pretty awful: if one had asked them to smile they would not have know how to do it! Only one person was reasonably accomodating and he was of Indian origin, the other Italians were a pretty miserable lot.
