“Almost perfect ..... but alas a tad homophobic -”

the hotel is perfectly located to explore the local bars and generally have a good night out.
unfortunately we got off to a bad start when we were unable to get a double room. i had specifically booked a double room for myself and my partner - but alas when two females turned up we found ourselves in a twin room with no chance of a double.
we were able to push the beds together but it left us feeling a little angry to say the least.

apart from this - the room was very large - the bathroom was excellent - the lobby was faultless and the lifts were smooth and clean.

room service had a lot to be desired - don't order the continental breakfast - we ended up with jus a few rolls and pots of jam. the coffee was also not good - espec after a week in italy!

all in all - what one woudl expect from a 4 star hotel. once all the building workin the surroundings area is completed im sure it will be even nicer.
the homophobic atitude... well it is italy - disappointing - especially being milan - however - i hope it improves as i would definately stay here again.

“Sleeping on an MDF board in a sauna”

I stayed here for a week on business in April. The temperature of the rooms was far too high. Much like other reviewers, I too inquired at the front desk about the air conditioning, but to no avail. The temperature in the room got up to as much as 27 degrees celsius at night and required the consumption of large volumes of mini-bar water to replace fluids lost. In addition, the hard mdf-type beds weren't conducive to a good night's sleep. Am a regular visitor to milan, but will not be returning to this hotel.

“Great hotel, great location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2009

My boyfriend and I stayed in the ATA Hotel Executive for 5 nights at the end of last year. Our room was on the 5th floor so we did not hear any noise from the downstairs breakfast area or the local nightclub.

The hotel is just around the corner from Corso Como, a beautiful street with a few very tasty restaurants, trendy bars, clubs and the AMAZING 10 Corso Como (shop ran by once editor of Italian Vogue).

Our room was really nice, large, good power shower, comfy bed and very clean.

Great locatioon for public transport, although we did walk to the Quadrilatrero d'Oro one day as we wanted a bit of a stroll. Also good location to Linate Airport (Taxi was under €20)

Lots to choose from at breakfast, but dinner is not so good and rather expensive. Much better value to be had around the corner.

Although we found staff to be slightly cold (but helpful all the same) I would certainly go back! Hotel had everything we were looking for!

  • Liked — Easy access to public transport, close to Corso Como, comfy bed!
  • Disliked — Reception Staff could have been nicer - struggling to find anything bad to say!

“disappointing and bring your ear plugs if you want to sleep!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2008

Stayed here for 9 nights and was disappointed. Expensive for what you get, (EUR 175), noisy and staff were distant. Breakfast was adequate. Locaton is good for sites and public transport.

Do not take the 1st floor rooms on the front east side: right below them is the (paved) corridor to the breakfast area. I was woken up at 5 am due to early breakfasters-leavers (walking and trolleys rolling). Had to change rooms and was surprised that reception seemed to 'recognise the problem the rooms had'. If you know the problem exists then why put people there?

Also avoid the back rooms due to the proximity of a club or disco below, pounding basses every night until at least 1 am in the morning. Double glazing does not help. Ear plugs did in the end. Room to room sound insulation is not up to standards either.

Nice is the proximity of Corso Como, with bars and restaurants. Check out the aperitivo-happy hour bar schemes, where you get free simple buffet food with a cocktail for between 6-8 EUR.

Also note that the area in front of the hotel is now a waste land the size of 2 football fields, with building going on till 2010. Not very pleasant to look out on.

  • Liked — location and proximity of public transport
  • Disliked — the noise

“Good but hot!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2008

I stayed again at the Atahotel Exec. 26 - 29th September 2008.

Once again (as in March 2008), I found the hotel to be clean, good service, great breakfast and everything at your fingertips which worked.

New flatscreen T.V. in room with internet through television for only euro 6. Room large, clean and comfortable.

The only negative was the heat in the room. The airconditioning is centrally controlled and although I was fobbed off by reception sending someone to the room to cool it down, it made absolutely no difference. The houskeeper informed me to keep it switched off, but that made no difference either. Early evening I kept the windows open for some "coolish, fresh air", but had to close at night due to nightlife nearby. The noise from the clubs is no problem whatsoever, as the double glazing works very efficiently.

During March, I found the room hot, but not unbearable. However, this time, it was VERY difficult to sleep in the heat, having to drink two bottles of mineral water during the course of the night.

Unfortunately this would prevent me from staying again at an otherwise great hotel in Milan.

A huge plus for their fantastic breakfasts and also quick and efficient room service at dinner time.

I got the weekend last minute rate of euro 80 including breakfast which is unbelievable for a hotel of its calibre.

One other problem during this stay (which I did not encounter in March) was the pilots and airline crew leaving rooms at 3/4 am and making a lot of noise. This only happened on one morning though.

What a pity about the heat - as even the rate of euro 80 would not take me back, as a night's sleep in a cooler room is more important, especially when on business.

  • Liked — Large, clean rooms with all expected of a 4 star hotel
  • Disliked — Rooms unbearably hot and difficult to sleep due to heat
