I needed a hotel in Milan for a Sunday night in April 2011 and decided to choose one of 3 4-star hotels opposite the Central station. I mostly needed a very soft bed and in Hotel Bristol (100 Euro) they said they have hard ones. In Hotel Michelangelo it was 135 Euro and I tried a bed and it was hard also, so I went to this Star Hotel (165 Euro quoted) and it was quite OK.
Room very modern, nice bathroom with bath but not fully stretchable.
TV hardly anything non-Italian but lots of pay-TV films , about 60 for 10 Euro each, but in various languages. Some films in more than 1 language.
Good enough breakfast. Friendly service.
Nothing to complain about the area.
About the buses to Malpensa: note that the "Malpensa bus" in the front is going to Terminal 2 which is all for Easyjet and that they fill it up to the last seat. So make sure which bus you really need and where it is going.
It was only 7,50 EurO. The train to Terminal 1 is 7 Euro.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Milan

Its in a great location, right accross the train station with direct links to City, Airport and other Eurpean countries.

I had 2 open nights during my holiday where I had not decided what I wanted to do. So from Rome I decided to take Eurostar early in the morning to Milan for some retail therapy and people watching (there isn't much to do in MIlan in terms of sightseeing). I did not book any hotel in advance. I left the station and went to various hotel around the station to check them out and see if I can find something descent. And I bumped into this establishment.

The lady at reception gave me their normal rate, and I asked her if she could do anything to give me a cheaper rate. She called what I believed was a hotel manager and bang, 25eur discount per night. Not only that, she decided to give me a room upgrade from a standard room which I had paid for to a superior room. The travel gods were on my side I tell you.

I went into the room, WOW... Beautiful room with modern finishes. I felt at home in a foreign city. Comfortable bed, heating was on point, TV was on point, shower and bath were on point. Eveyrthing was superb.

I spent a lot of time in my room to relaxing to recouperate from 2 weeks of sightseeing and walking and to get ready for some more. This was a perfect location for that. I don't know why I would want to go back to MIlan again, if ever I did though - this is exactly where I would stay.

My husband and i travelled to milan for 4 nights. We caught the coach from the airport and it took us directly to the central train station. opposite this is starhotels anderson. It cost us €3 each for a 24 hour metro ticket. The Duomo is only 3 stops away so it is in a perfect location and very good value for money.

Near train station and a main metro stop, but noise was not a problem. Neighborhood is fine, even walking around at night. Hotel's public areas are colorful and intriguing; room itself is more muted. The hotel restaurant is excellent. The breakfast buffet is also satisfying. .Would stay here again!

This is a very professional business person's hotel. The staff are effecient however do not smile or greet you. The rooms are well appointed, the bathroom was excellent and the breakfast and sevice was second to none. The internet charge of 11.50 euros a night is a rip off.
They say that first impressions count. As I dragged my bags down the steps into the reception dungeon and watched the porter slink into his broom closet to avoid helping me I thought the worst.
p.s.I had to drag them up the stairs on the way out for the same reason.
The location while central to the station seems isolated and I was uncomfortable walking around the area.
The location to the subway is the problem. Before booking this hotel I read a review in Trip Advisor that sort of said "that the noise of the trains was a problem but hey the location to the trains is why we stay there". So as I live near a train station and had visions of a "toot toot" in the background I booked and didn't think anymore of it.
I did not expect a rumble and vibration that runs through the room and out the door every 3 minutes from 6am until midnight. It is a problem if you are a light sleeper but after 4 niights you do get used to it.
