The proximity of all the attractions one wants to see, the room, the staff, the price - everything was great. The option of having breakfast delivered to your room was a nice surprise, too. The area around Termini is not the nicest in the city, but me and my friend really didn't mind, and we didn't feel unsafe. I would definitely come back.

We had a warm welcome from the lady who is on desk-duty in the day time.
We were surprised to be shown to No. 24 Carlo Cattaneo, and concluded that the hostel has increased in size due to its well-deserved popularity. We were free to come and go as we pleased, as we had our own set of keys, and the room on the 2nd floor was spacious and bright, though a lot of noise and smell came in from the street.
The other reviewers have commented that the neighbourhood is not very pleasant, unless the art-form known as graffiti is the topic of your visit!
We stayed two nights, and the breakfast was satisfying, and arrived at the exact time we had requested. Unusually for a cheaper hotel, the towels were very big, and the small size of the bathroom didn't bother us.
I would stay there again, but I have also discovered b&b in homes... another good option for Rome on a budget.

Room tip: Ask about the air-conditioning, if you'll need some Not all rooms have it.

My friend & I stayed there for 3 nights. It was very close to the train station which was nice but the area wasn't very nice so walking around was a bit uncomfortable, especially at night. No one touched us or tried to hurt us; it was just a sketchy neighborhood. The staff is sooooo nice and helpful all the time. They smoke a ton of cigarettes indoors but otherwise they were great. We stayed in a room on the first floor for the first two nights, then we moved to a room on the fifth floor for the last night. At night they ask you what time you want breakfast in the morning (10am the latest) and in the morning they bring breakfast to your room. Every morning we were given packaged croissants filled with chocolate or a custard, coffee, orange juice, yogurt, and little rolls with jam.

Our room on the first floor did not have wifi because the first floor wifi was not working so we had to go down to the lobby and use the ground floor's wifi if we needed internet access. We opted to relocate to the fifth floor for the last night so that we could use wifi in the rooms but it turned out that the fifth floor did not have AC. Either way it was nice to stay in. The bathrooms were clean and spacious and we had access to the kitchens (refrigerator, microwave, toaster, sink, snacks, and glassware) 24/7. The people staying in the room next to us on the fifth floor said that they didn't have AC in the room either, but they at least had a standing floor fan. I'd recommend this place to anyone who doesn't want to spend too much money because it is nice but it needs a little bit of work.

Room tip: Ask about which floor has wifi. The woman told us that they were working on the power line for the first floor which is why the wifi wasn't working but I think they just didn't have wifi for the first floor.

Had a room on the fifth floor and it was lovely, very clean and pretty rooms. The staff were lovely and really helpful too and they brought breakfast to you in bed in the mornings. It is right next to the train station which is handy if you have a lot of bags, however that is also a slightly rough area which isn't very nice to walk around in, especially at night time, however that cannot be helped. Better air con would've helped as rooms got very hot, other than that this was pretty much perfect for our stay

I've just returned from travelling around Europe with my boyfriend and two other friends, and this was our first stop. It's situated a street away from the Termini Station which was really helpful as it's the main station around that area. The staff were really friendly and helpful people, and we even got breakfast sent to our room at any time we wanted; we just had to let them know. Most importantly, my boyfriend and I stayed in a double room on the 5th floor right at the top (as if it was an attic room, and yes there was a lift) and it was really nice! We didn't expect it to be that nice when we walked in the room (because we were expecting the worst for our back packing holiday) - it included free WiFi, a mini fridge in the room which was great to keep water cool, and effectively two twin beds pushed together (but that didn't bother us, they were still together). However, the room our friends stayed in was the one on the 5th floor where the air con was on but it blew out hot air to the ceiling; which was useless. But they had a sofa bed, effectively, and found it comfortable and as spacious as the room my boyfriend and I had. The kitchen was what you'd expect out of a kitchen; you could make food and eat it. There was a little dining area which consisted of 6 chairs. Then, there were 2 showers that were shared between 3 or 4 rooms which were constantly clean and worked really well. Overall, it was a lovely little B&B and I'm sure that if I were to go back to Rome in that area I'd stay here without a doubt.

Room tip: The highest room in the hostel is the quietest one as you're above and away from everything else.
