“Great Room, Great Neighborhood, Inconvenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2009

We stayed in three different B&Bs to get a sampling of various locations in Rome. The B&B itself was very nice. Service was excellent and we felt like we had our very own maid. She was quick to help us, called taxis and insisted they be pronto, made arrangements, and made us feel at home. The room was elegant, the bathroom large, the air conditioning refreshing. The neighborhood was quiet and the views charming. We were very close to the best restaurant we had in Rome - try La Scala just down the hill! This is a very upper class neighborhood and you can walk to great shopping as well. Despite all this, the location was a hassle. We tried to use public transportation in Rome, and others had said this was convenient. However, the nearby Metro station was closed for repairs at the time of our visit, so check on this. Getting here from the Colosseum involved riding Metro B, transferring to Metro A, then riding it to Piazza de Popolo, then getting on the Urban Train which is covered in graffiti and very dirty. This dropped us off past the closed station, so we had to then ride a bus to the neighborhood, then walk up the hill. You can avoid this last bus if the station is reopened, but it will still be something of a hassle on public transportation. Anyone saying this is only 'one Metro stop' on the reviews is not telling the truth. I wished we had used a taxi more, but this will had at least 10 Euro each direction to your stay at the Suite. They may want to reduce the room charge by 20 E or provide a coupon while the Metro is closed. If you don't mind using a taxi and being out of the city center, this will be a wonderful retreat for you, as there is nothing to complain about with the suite itself or the service. I took some off on cleanliness as the fancy pillows had some stains. We used the free WiFi to video chat back to the family in the States. We enjoyed a nice breakfast in our room, and felt very secure here. You will have a hard time finding better service or a more plush room.

we really enjoyed having been to the suite oriani for one week in august 09. it's a really nice place with very welcoming staff. breakfast is a rich and italian one served in your room in the morning. location is pefect, just one subway stop away from the spanish steps or 20 minutes by walking from trevi fountaine. very nice restaurants and other facilities nearby... can't wait to come back thereee!!

“nice place, location too far from center of Rome”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2009

This place was rated well and was clean, quiet and the service good. However, it is really on the outskirts. Breakfast served in your room is all (Italian style) sugar, don't expect eggs or something healthy. You will have to take a bus or taxi to get into the city. I am a walker, hiker and you will need public transportation, which can add up if you take taxis. If you take the bus, you need to buy the ticket before you get on the bus and put the ticket in the machine on the bus. Ok place if you want to be away from it all but a problem if you just want to walk outside and begin touring Roma.

“An oasis of relaxation in the midst of busy touring.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2009

We were welcomed by a very attentive and hospitable housekeeper. Isabella made sure we had everything we needed. Rooms are very clean, comfortable, quiet and a retreat after a day of sightseeing. Transport is convenient and Isabella makes sure you know how to use the transport and where to go for dinner. Breakfast is a lovely continental tray with fresh coffee in your room.

“Perfect location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2009

This was my first trip to Rome, and I would definatly recommend this hotel. It is only 1 metro stop from the main town. It is located in a quiet area with good local restaurants. I would recommend being picked up from the airport by a chauffer as there is not much difference in cost than using public transport. The hotel will arrange everything.
The room was clean and pleasent with no noise.
I would visit this hotel again.
