“Highly recommended”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 February 2010

Initally I was a bit worried having read some of the reviews on tripadvisor and because I got such a good rate for this Hotel but I did not need to be. The Hotel is located outside the city centre 3 mins walk from Cornelia metro stop on the red line. Initally the location looks a little unclean - graphity etc however we were there from 5 days and never had any issues, in fact people were very helpful especially on the metro. The Hotel staff were very accomodating, helpful and friendly. They organised a taxi to and from the airport for us without any hassle. Rooms are clean and well presented. All amenties are available - hairdryer, minibar (which is very cheap!), towels, grooming products and anything which you may have forgotten can be provided for in reception. Breakfast is very good, even as a vegetarian I was spoiled for choice. Internet access is available in the lobby and there is a small bar also for drinks and snacks. The only downside to the hotel were the French style beds - two single beds joined together which I found a little uncomfortable. On a whole I would recommend this hotel.

“great breadfast, good value for the money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2010

it locates in a residential area, it is not that close to rome centre but it is about 5 mins walk to Metro so it is not a big deal. the staff was very helpful. the room is in a reasonable size with a small balcony and pretty quiet. the bathroom is pretty large for a 3* hotel. the breadfast was very good with lots of choices. the only thing is that it doesnt provide adapter but beside that, this hotel is not a bad choice!

“No value for your money”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2009

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. Very small room, no hot water, very noisy and the worst breakfast i have ever seen. Maybe i'm spoiled, but a breakfast needs to have at least some sort of bread. One star is more than enough for this hotel

“Good base outisde of Rome City Centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2009

We stayed here for a two night stay in September 2008 before travelling up to Tuscany and although the hotel is located outside of Rome City Centre it is easy to reach and in a good location.

The hotel came in best in terms of price and value for what we were looking for a clean and comfortable base for two full days of sight seeing. We arrived at the hotel and were promptly booked into the three rooms we had booked.

We had a decent sized room with a lovely bathroom.

Breakfast was lovely and helped to set you up for the day. Overall a decent stay, would stay here again.

“Excellent hotel for sightseeing!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2009

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Waldorf Hotel and I have to say I'm really impressed! I had read the couple of negetive reviews so was slightly worried but shouldn't have been. We booked a last minute deal through lastminute.com so got this quite cheap - the room we were given was small but fine for sleeping & showering which is all you want to do on a city break! (There are bigger rooms available as I saw then being cleaned!!) The room was immaculately clean and the maid service was excellent with clean towels daily. All the staff were polite and friendly. The breakfast was amazing for a hotel like this - I wouldn't call it American, more european (with a stab at bacon, eggs and beans!) but plenty to eat in the morning. The only downsides for this hotel is it's initial location - it says it's 100m from the metro - but it didn't say which exit to get out of (there are 3) so we ended up walking for ages trying to find it. When we did finally get the right exit it is literally a 2 minute walk. I would suggest taking a routemap with you out of the metro and to the Hotel which we forgot to do. You need exit 'Boccea via Pari'. The metro was amazing though - and whilst the hotel is quite far out, I think it probably is easier to get to the main sites than some of the more central hotels that aren't on a metro line. It takes about 12 minutes to get to the Cornelia metro from Termini station which is amazing considering it is quite far out. Also the walls are quite thin. Also don't be put off by the area the hotel is in - itilially it looks quite run down until you realise the whole of Rome is covered in graffiti!! The first night we ate locally at a restaurant just on the corner of the street you turn into for the hotel - it was amazing and highly recommended. The pizza's were great.
The Waldorf was an excellent hotel and I would stay there again.
