“Good base outisde of Rome City Centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2009

We stayed here for a two night stay in September 2008 before travelling up to Tuscany and although the hotel is located outside of Rome City Centre it is easy to reach and in a good location.

The hotel came in best in terms of price and value for what we were looking for a clean and comfortable base for two full days of sight seeing. We arrived at the hotel and were promptly booked into the three rooms we had booked.

We had a decent sized room with a lovely bathroom.

Breakfast was lovely and helped to set you up for the day. Overall a decent stay, would stay here again.

“Excellent hotel for sightseeing!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2009

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Waldorf Hotel and I have to say I'm really impressed! I had read the couple of negetive reviews so was slightly worried but shouldn't have been. We booked a last minute deal through lastminute.com so got this quite cheap - the room we were given was small but fine for sleeping & showering which is all you want to do on a city break! (There are bigger rooms available as I saw then being cleaned!!) The room was immaculately clean and the maid service was excellent with clean towels daily. All the staff were polite and friendly. The breakfast was amazing for a hotel like this - I wouldn't call it American, more european (with a stab at bacon, eggs and beans!) but plenty to eat in the morning. The only downsides for this hotel is it's initial location - it says it's 100m from the metro - but it didn't say which exit to get out of (there are 3) so we ended up walking for ages trying to find it. When we did finally get the right exit it is literally a 2 minute walk. I would suggest taking a routemap with you out of the metro and to the Hotel which we forgot to do. You need exit 'Boccea via Pari'. The metro was amazing though - and whilst the hotel is quite far out, I think it probably is easier to get to the main sites than some of the more central hotels that aren't on a metro line. It takes about 12 minutes to get to the Cornelia metro from Termini station which is amazing considering it is quite far out. Also the walls are quite thin. Also don't be put off by the area the hotel is in - itilially it looks quite run down until you realise the whole of Rome is covered in graffiti!! The first night we ate locally at a restaurant just on the corner of the street you turn into for the hotel - it was amazing and highly recommended. The pizza's were great.
The Waldorf was an excellent hotel and I would stay there again.

“Nice Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2009

We stayed for a week at the Waldorf and were very pleased with accomadations. The breakfast was very good.We were surprised to find that it was an English Breakfast. The rooms were very clean and modern. There is both a secret garden and a rooftop garden for the use of the guests. The hotel is located near the subway and is a short trip to all the major attractions.

“A DECENT HOTEL”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2009

We have just arrived back from rome and we had a great time staying at the waldorf....though initially we were put in a tiny room we complained and were moved the next day to a larger room that was clean..had a good sized bathroom that was clean and well equipped and from then on had no problems with this hotel at all...the staff were friendly and helpful...at first we thought the local area was a bit rough but after getting to know the place it was fine with a couple of lovley restaurants locally...the tube is just 2mins from the hotel and theres a bus station nearby too...we used the tube every day and found it fast and efficient....i read a few less than complimentary reviews about this hotel before going but i must admit that it was a good place to stay apart from the tiny room at the start incident id give it a strong 8/10...the restaurant (osteradiaviatardini) right next to the entrance of cornelia metro station is a place not to miss...the food is really excellent and also check out frankies at the top of the road from the hotel for excellent pizzas....theres a couple of nice cafes nearby too with cappucinos at 90cents compared to 5euro at piazza navona....all in all i would reccomend this place and would also like to say that having re-read a few of the poorer reviews this hotel has recieved i think its a bit unfair of the critics to say the things they have..they are perhaps being a tad picky though this did concern me before i went i now know that the place is ok...enjoy your holiday..rome is a beautiful city....take comfortable shoes as your gonna be doing a lot of walking.

“Great stay, good value.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2009

Stayed here for a week in September with another couple. Our room was very small but very clean and looked recently redecorated. Bathroom was shiny and clean with new tiles on floor and walls and great tub/shower.

Check-in was speedy. Front desk always helpful except for late night staff. Wireless internet non-existent in room, worked in lobby but 5 Euros per hour. Used a neighbouring router for free.

Breakfast was a good way to start the day. Not great but included in the price. Lots of food, good staff and nice room.

Housekeeping every day. Only a 5 minute walk to subway, 15 minutes downtown. Several nice little restaurants in area for pizza and pasta. In residential neighbourhood so quiet. Commercial area is working class but we felt safe.

No real complaints.
