I have mixed feelings about this hotel. The reception was very helpful, the common rooms were large and spacious and the location was good. The room was a decent size, but it had a slight odor - like someone had smoked in the room and they still didn't have it aired out. The bathroom was decent but the water pressure was horrible. I have very thick hair and had to wash my hair in the sink. There was no way I could do it in that shower!
The first night the hotel was quiet. The next two nights we heard water, shower/ toilet sounds from the other rooms all night long.
The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the station. We found a better route once we had been there a day or so. It's down a quiet street, but there is a street market during the week. It was a little hard to roll suitcases through the market. The reception gave us a map of Rome when we first arrived and recommended the Caio Roma bus tour (DON'T DO IT! - We did and regretted it. There are way better choices.) They told us about the close sights (a Cathedral, la Repubblica, etc) and the restaurant next door (we ate there twice - it was good). There is also a grocery store up the street - although it's not very recognizable as one from the outside. They have a lot of signs asking you not to eat in your rooms, but the common areas are large, so you may be able to do it there. Check out was early (10am), but we could keep our luggage there and they had a bathroom in the common area so we could clean up before leaving.
I booked directly through the hotel website and paid less than $100 per night, so I guess I can't complain too much!
