We stayed at Hotel Corona between June 1st and June 4th. The hotel is within walking distance of the Termini station.
I would like to summarize our experience in bullet points:
Close to Termini Station
Free Wi-Fi . However in the room the signal was very weak and disappeared after midnight. It was puzzling to them as well.
Clean Rooms
Daily Housekeeping (except the first day when it appears they forgot)
Free Breakfast (being from America it seems sparse, but its typical)
Good Cappuccinos at Breakfast (We love the older lady who makes the cappuccinos she is wonderful)
Very helpful staff. They speak excellent English.
They have a street vendor market outside that sets up at 5am or so and it can be disruptive if you are facing the street. The market sells all kinds of things like Fruits, Household items, Clothes etc. This seems quite typical all over Italy where these markets get set up right on the street.
They have signs saying no food allowed in the rooms..which seemed rather odd to us, since did that mean we could not even buy fruit or snacks to eat in the room?
The stand up shower is small, and they had a shower curtain which did not cover the entire length of the shower so you had to be very careful not to cause flooding of the bathroom. Plenty of hot water.
Bed was basic but reasonably comfortable. Pillows were hard (I am used to down pillows so perhaps thats why it felt that way to me).
My girlfriend said it had more of a hostel feel to it than a hotel but in this price range I guess its typical. One morning they were playing some music in the hallway speaker which woke her up at 7am.
Elevator is very tiny, if you are in the least bit claustrophobic you may want to take the stairs.
