“Mixed Feelings”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 June 2010

I stayed at Hotel Corona for two nights while holidaying in Rome.

Let's start with the good. It is very near Termini station which is the central station in Rome, so if you intend to take the train and metro everywhere in Rome (highly recommended!) it is very convenient. Also I love the lounge area which is very homely with it's big sofas and spacious quiet ambience.

Breakfast was pretty good as well.

However, it stops there. You had to pay 5 euros for the wi-fi which I couldn't receive any signal in my room, and I had to go to the lobby area everytime I wanted to use the internet.

But the thing that really annoyed me was there was no room service. They had indicated that if you place your towels on the floor they would replace it for you. So we did, and went out the entire day to tour the city. When we returned at night, we realised nothing was done and we ended up using towels that had been left on the toilet floor again to dry ourselves.

Also, we had already purchased tickets for the Vatican but would like to join a tour offered by the hotel, but we asked if we could pay the tour fee minus the ticket price, but they said no and didn't bother to help or be flexible. They just told me to throw my ticket away and join their tour.

Overall it is clean, simple and neat and the location's great but service maybe not so.

“Roma”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 June 2010

Staff was very accommodating. Breakfast was very tasty. The location is close to the Termini Metro Station and major bus station, making easy to get all around Rome quickly. Good free internet access, just ask the front desk for a code. The atmosphere was quiet relaxing. The rooms were clean, with good size with high ceilings. Would definitely recommend.

“Cheap, Cheerful, Clean & Central”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 May 2010

This hotel was recommended to me by some people I had met in New York earlier in the year. The location is perfect to walk to the most of the main tourist attractions. We found the room comfortable, and most surprisingly for such a small establishment, most languages were spoken and the staff were extremely professional and helpful. The gentleman on reception during our stay, Giacomo, was patient enough to give me information in Italian and then again in English for my wife, who is from London. There was a real famiy atmosphere at the hotel amongst the staff, I believe it is a family owned hotel.

“Everyone was so helpful, rooms were spacious and kept up well. It was a really wonderful place to stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2010

The staff was ready and willing to help with anything that we asked. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and the bathrooms were very clean and well-kept. Internet was able to be accessed all the way into the upper rooms, which was very convenient. The elevator was always in working condition. The hotel was located in a safe, quiet area within walking distance of many of the major attractions in Rome. It was a great stay.

“Nice hotel, Wonderful Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 May 2010

I stayed at the Corona Hotel while traveling with a large group of college students. The hotel was very nice and our rooms were very comfortable. There was more than enough room for 4 people to fit comfortably together in the same room. The breakfast was wonderful and consisted of a great variety of pastries to choose from. It made for a wonderful start to the day. The staff was also wonderful. Everyone was very friendly and more than willing to help with any problems or question we had along the way. The hotel is in a wonderful location, only a short walk from the train station, Via Nazionale, and all the main sites of Rome. My favorite part was the fact that the hotel offers free wi-fi which was wonderful for a college student trying to stay in touch with people back home. Overall, it was a great experience and i would definitely recommend this hotel to some traveling to Rome.
