“Nice hotel, Good location”

I stayed there 3/8/2010 -- 3/10/2010. The hotel was perfect for what I wanted to do. It was within walking distance, 20 minutes of the Fontana del Tritone and from there 10 minutes of the Spanish steps and from there 10 minute walk of the Fontana di trevi. The bus line on Del Corso will take you to the collisium for the fare of 1 euro. It is a 5 minute bus ride. Then retrace your steps back to the hotel. You will run into 2 super markets following these routes back to the hotel. small but they will do. 1 1/2 blocks from the hotel on Piave you can catch the bus to Termimi station,it is a 7 minute bus ride.for 1 euro. The best food is in the Tritone square. Hotel was clean and we felt safe.

“Good location for tourist visit to rome”

Hotel is located in quiet district very safe and quiet though about 15 min walk to the center ( a bit of a hike), Rooms are however very clean and you can get a very good rate fro the standard of the hotel and buffet breakfast is included. Room are average European size , not frill in the hotel , no dinner restaurant although lots of options nearby to eat. A good base for exploring Rome but you need to be prepared to walk. I would use again if in Rome.

“Nice rooms, nice location - don't eat there, service could be better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2010

Nice location, quiet, rooms are ok. This hotel doesn't have a proper restaurant, they hire catering from external companies and this is not good. We had a group of 70 people and the food was constantly cold + service not good.
We also had an issue with the rooms, around 10 of us were put to other hotels as they had a crew from Delta airlines that had not left the hotel.
We did our booking weeks in advance and the hnadling of that issue was really poor, some people got upset and the hotel has done nothing as a compensation...really a pity because otherwise, the hotel is ok

“Nice rooms, quiet street”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2010

My room was lovely, more spacious than I anticipated, and had a large bathroom. Very clean. Located on a quiet street. It is true that it is quite a hike to walk to attractions, but it's Europe. Put on your walking shoes and just go. Would recommend- nice find.

“This is not the hotel for you!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2008

I just spent two days with my 23 year old daughter at this hotel and don't know where to begin?(October 15-17 2008)

Hotel location is horrible-it is in a residential area that is not close to anything....restaurants,tabac shops to purchase tickets for metro/bus, grocery stores or any ATM's.You have to hike many blocks to get to any public transportation or "civilization".

The front staff has difficulty with English and are not helpful in calling cabs or making restaurant reservations for the evening. They cannot help with where anything is such as ATM's,bus routes, etc. which is frustrating. I was told to go back up to my room to call transportation and then was charged for the local call-I have never have had this problem at other hotels in Rome or anywhere else in the world.

Breakfast was included in our price of the hotel-however,there are no eggs or hot dishes but cereal, fruit and cheese/ham with bread. They will make special coffees (expresso, cappuchinos, etcs.)if requested.Breakfast room tends to be VERY warm so you eat quickly!

Rooms are standard sized. Be advised that they turn the A/C off October 1st so the room was extremely hot while there as the weather was 26C(80'sF).We opened the window to try and cool off but it was really warm and we were bitten quite a bit by mosquitoes coming in through the unscreened window.

My biggest headache with these rooms is the automatic sensor light that goes on anytime you are near the door, bathroom, etc. It turns on whether you are actually walking across the room;accidentally extend your arm while sleeping off your bed, kick your covers off the bed, etc. It is the biggest pain with two persons in the room as you never know what is going to set the sensor light off which causes you to wake up immediately!

The other thing that I do not like about the rooms is that you have a huge leaded key that must be inserted into a wall switch to activate everything in the room-lights,TV,etc. I have had keys like this all the time all over Europe and South America but this also activates a red light outside your door to let everyone know that you are in the room. Security and safety wise-very unsafe!

I would highly recommend that you seek lodging elsewhere in Rome on your next trip-it is at least 6 blocks to the Via Veneto to use public transportation and is difficult to walk back to after being out all day.It is VERY far to major sites such as the Spanish Steps,Piazza Navona, etc.

  • Liked — not much
  • Disliked — location,staff,room with sensor light
