“OK place to stay”

This was the third and last hotel my husband and I stayed at during our honeymoon in Italy and our least favorite.

The hotel staff was not very attentive, friendly or helpful and none of them had any sense of urgency. When we asked for a restaurant recommendation, the guy seemed dumbfounded and only had one suggestion. However, he did manage to recommend a good place.

We were offered an upgrade to a room with a 'jacuzzi' for 25 euro, which was laughable. It is hardly wide enough to fit one person who is stick-thin.

We did not have any issues with noise. The beds weren't the most comfortable. We were very disappointed with the breakfast buffet. It consisted of the same food as the other hotels we stayed at in Italy, but the food was not good, so we only ate there on our first morning. And beware of their 'coffee.' It had a burnt taste, so bad I couldn't finish one cup. We were given complementary drinks at their bar for being honeymooners, but we were very disappointed to find out it only covered wine, soda, or beer!

The location was not the greatest. An easy walk from the train station, however if you are not going to stay in the middle of Rome, try getting a hotel that is closer to a subway stop. The closet stop is almost half way to the major sites.

“Maybe the best deal in Rome”

We booked this hotel for the one night after our cruise and before our flight home. At $110/night each for two rooms this was a fantastic buy. Gianni at the front desk was incredibly helpful especially given the busy nature of this hotel.

Our rooms ended up being in "the residence", an annex to the hotel just a few steps around the corner. The rooms were large by European standards, clean, well air-conditioned, and very nicely appointed. My wife flipped over the place.

Breakfast is provided in their beautiful rooftop area with panoramic views of the city. A real treat.

If you're comfortable with public transportation the location works out well for the money. There is a bus stop right out front with several buses that bring you to Termini station where you can transfer to anywhere. Metro stations are less than a 20 minute walk.

There aren't a whole lot of restaurants in the area, but a short walk up Via Boncompagni or a little further to Via Bergamo should provide some great choices.

“Value for money, customer focussed, very friendly and exceptionally clean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 June 2010

I stayed here with my family for a 3 day city break in Rome. Having booked the hotel as part of package with ebookers I was a little sceptical about the standard. I should not have been - we arrived and checked in simply, the staff spoke English (despite my efforts to try my Italian!) and were always courteous. They gave us adjoining rooms which were splendidly decorated and spotlessly clean.

The rooms were not huge but more than adequate. The bathrooms were beautifully equipped, the water warm and plentiful.

Breakfast was simple, but what was provided was of first class standard (excepting the coffee which should have been better considering the location).

Posting letters, getting taxis, advising on trips and leaving luggage after checkout were all tested by us and all passed with flying colours.

I frequently stay in hotels as part of my job and would recommend the Veneto to anyone looking for a value for money, clean, well located and helpfully run hotel in Rome.

“Service above and beyond”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2010

Arrived the day ownership of the hotel was changing. New owners worked extremely hard to make our stay delightful. Some hiccups due to the changeover but as a whole, the 5 night stay was great. Location ideal. Very clean. Hard working new owners. Highly recommed as a 3 star hotel. Had everything we needed or wanted. Breakfast included.

“Maybe not 4 star but very pleasant!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 May 2010

We booked an online offer which included a free upgrade to a room with hydromassage bathtub (+ airport transfer and a bottle of wine in the room). We arrived some three hours before check-in time but were given a warm-hearted welcome and a map over places of interest. Coming back three hours later, tired and warm, we were given the key to our room. We walked into the room, which felt less than welcoming, to find a small bathroom with a shower crammed in one corner. The bathtub was important to me as it was my 40th birthday and I love bathing but we don´t have a bathtub at home. We went straight back to the front desk and after having read some reviews earlier, I was dreading we´d have to pay extra - or accept that horrid room.
Two minutes later, I was called to the front desk, given an excuse and a key to a completely different room on the second floor, WITH a bathtub.
Yes, this hotel has its flaws - chipped marble and paint, a crack in the wall, the installations in the bathroom seems to have been made by a five-year-old, we couldn´t get the massage shower to work - but I loved it!! If I had paid the prices stated at the front desk I would have been outraged, but I paid 158 euros per night and I have NO complaints. The bed was very comfortable, if a little short for my tall fiance, and it was a proper double, not two singles pushed together. It was properly made and clean towels supplied every day. Loud traffic from early morning to late evening - be sure to pack your earplugs.
Breakfast was quite OK, you can easily keep your belly full until lunch - though I normally don´t eat pastries and pies for breakfast.
Staff was extremely helpful and friendly and the scent in the lobby is welcoming and lovely.
We are proud to announce we were their first guests in the hotel spa. It clearly has potential, the steam sauna is beautiful and the mood showers quite nice, if a little cold. As soon as they change the music (disco music is not very relaxing) and get the dressing rooms ready, this spa will be great.
Rome is a very expensive city but if we do return, I will most probably stay at the hotel Veneto again.
