Chez Diana is operated by the charming Diana and it is run in excellent fashion. Chez Diana is actually two B&B's in apartment 23 on the 4th floor. Only the word "Diana" appears on the footpath intercom buzzer. It is a charming place to stay with both B&B's sharing a common, full kitchen. There is a larger room & a smaller which has a larger ensuite. The beds are good, lovely big Roman windows, aircon. and very good security.
The neighbourhood contains supermarkets, internet shops, food market, taxis, buses & trains...all located two streets behind St. Peter's Museum. We found tree-lined avenues, a Chinese restaurant & a cheap little pizzeria just around the corner that sells the best pizza I've ever tasted. Easy walking distance to St.Peter's, the river Tiber & historic areas. One attraction is that it is not located in the hustle noisy bustle of historic old Rome across the river.
A short train or taxi ride across the river & you're into Julius Ceasar's Rome. Again, Diana looked after us in excellent fashion. MAKE SURE you have her mobile (cell) phone number as she does not live at the B&B's and if you arrival is delayed she may not be there! Catch a taxi there as it is, inconveniently, one street off most tourist maps! Again excellent value. We'll stay there again.
