What's not to like? We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights as part of our summer vacation in Spain.
It was easy to find - we caught the bus from the airport (3247 - goes every half an hour, costs €1.30pp) which dropped us off immediately after crossing the bridge near the Guggenheim. From there it was an easy 10 minute walk with a suitcase across the Zubizuri bridge and the hotel was fine to locate with the colourful windows.
Staff at checkin were very helpful, and while we were a couple of hours early were happy to give us a room as soon as it became available and mind the bags while we went out to explore.
The rooms are very comfortable - nicely decorated, modern, clean. Really liked the slightly minimalist style. All amenities worked fine (safe, fridge, tv etc) and thought that everything was quite well maintained.
We ate once in the 'cafe/bar' - the food was perfectly acceptable, although service was slightly slow. But very comfortable seats and a nice outlook over the river.
They have good services - onsite parking if you have hired a car, or bike hire if you plan to get out and view the city by bike.
It's a good location - not far to walk to Casco Viejo (Old Town) for a wander around the shops, bars and restaurants. Equally, an easy 10 minute walk to the Guggenheim - either by the Zubizuri bridge close to the hotel, or walking a little further past the Guggenheim (also a great opportunity for photos by night when it is lit up) to the pedestrian bridge (Puente de Pedro Arrupe) a little further down.
You can also use the Funicular (a block behind the hotel) to visit Artxanda for more great views of the city (at €0.90 each way, a great option) We found that walking down gave us the chance to appreciate the city from a variety of angles.
There are plenty of small bars/cafes in the street directly behind the hotel and we found the staff in a few that we visited to be very friendly and food/drink very cheap (but lovely!). Fresh food, well made and served with a smile. Excellent.
All in all a lovely hotel experience, and would have no qualms recommending it to anyone visiting Bilbao.
