The hotel is a short walk from the train station which was useful (we arrived at night and walked with 2 suitcases and bags and it only took 5 minutes- saved us $ on taxi). The guy on the front desk was very helpful, friendly and polite and helped to carry our suitcases to the room, which was up steep stairs (there is no lift). The room was okay, pretty small but clean. Had a view of a wall and a roof, which was not that pleasant but you do get what you pay for. The shower was a tiny corner unit but wasn't a problem unless you needed to bend over. The hotel was a 20-25 minute walk to restaurants, shops and laundromats (in the Old Town), which got a bit tiring (Nice is a place where you walk a lot as it is and the pavements are hard work because of the dog poo and cars parked on them). The area that the hotel is in is not really the best part of the city. The hotel itself is clean and the service is good, but the location was a drawback because of its distance to the Old Town (although it was a safe quiet area).
