“Fantastic find”

I booked the Royal Magda after seeing tripadvisor reviews but almost immediately got a great feeling about it. Upon contacting the hotel, I had to explain that we had the issue of having 3 children and most hotels really weren't accommodating to that. The staff was wonderful and worked out a suite for us. It was perfect. 2 rooms--a bedroom and a sofa bed, not a huge suite but fine and actually thought it'd be much smaller. All, including the bathroom, was immaculate and comfortable. The staff was great--calling for reservations, taxis, giving us recommendations. All spoke English, and were very kind to our children (huge for parents). The hotel was typical parisian, and the kids were delighted with the closet sized elevator. The decor was understated but lovely. We did not choose the meal option because there were so many little stores and restaurants nearby (there is an amazing market with stalls and small food shops just down the street), but it was nice to know it was there.

Location was superb--could not be more perfect for sightseeing, shopping, eating. We walked everywhere and when not, the staff called us taxis.

Would absolutely stay there again and absolutely would recommend to anyone who wants an authentic experience. Perfect.

“Good hotel in a great location less than 200 metres from Arc de Triumphe”

We stayed at this hotel for four nights including New Year's Eve 2008. This is a typical Parisian hotel with compact rooms (and even more compact lift!) but what made the difference for us was the staff were always prepared to help. We hadn't booked a restaurant to eat at on 1 January and the staff found out an excellent local restaurant for our final meal in Paris.

On New Year's Eve the restaurant kindly provided a box of chocolates for each room! We had a standard double room on one of the upper floors which consisted of a double bed, small wardrobe, small desk and a flat screen TV. The compact bathroom had a shower (no bath which didn't bother us) and was very clean. The only downside I had with the hotel was the soundproofing between the rooms wasn't great.

If we were to go back to Paris we would definately stay here again due it's excellent location and good value for money.

If anyone is thinking of going to Paris at New Year it is a great city at this time of year but be warned that all the sights are as busy as ever and book your restaurant for New Year's well in advance! We had an absolutely fantastic New Year's in Findi restaurant on Avenue George V which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

  • Liked — Location and staff
  • Disliked — Only slight downside - soundproofing of rooms (think we were unlikely with our neighbours rather than anything else)

“Nice hotel”

This was a very nice hotel in a good location, at a good price. The room clean and well maintained, but wasn't too big, though was what I expected for a place a this price in central Paris. The staff members were always friendly and spoke English, which was a big plus, and we were close to the metro and the Air France Bus to and from CDG.

“Fantastic Experience”

I booked this hotel for me and my girlfriend, on the recommendations of the trip advisor website and was not dissapointed. We were delighted to find on arrival we had been up-graded to a Junior Suite, and were extremley pleased with the spacious room. Having worked in the hospitality industry I am always overly critical of hotels (to the annoyance of my girldfirend) but the standards of cleanliness in the room were faultless. The staff were extremley friendly, with the reciptionist booking a table at a local restaurant as they did not speak English. The breakfast was also top notch, providing a non-fuss high quality buffett.
Location was also extremly convient, as it was away from the more central hustle and bustle of Paris city centre so quiet at nights and being within walking distance of the metro which provided easy access to the Effiel Tower and Louvre.
I would fully recomend this hotel to couples looking for a quiet get-away.
I would like to thank all the staff and management for their hospitality during our stay

“Great Parisian hideaway”

Unless you're blessed with an exceptionally large wallet you shouldn't go to Paris and expect very large, modern and quiet hotel rooms in the 'right area'.

The Royal Magda is no exception to this rule, however, it's very clean with pleasant atmosphere, but most importantly, it is a 5 minute walk from the Air France airport shuttle bus stop and even less from the Arc and Charles de Gaulle Etoile, the get you any where Metro and RER station at the top of the Champs Elysees.

For the money you can't go wrong. Even breakfast at €12 per head is good value by Parisian standards and if you take your time and enjoy a long breakfast you'll last until you savour the delights of the latin quarter in the evening.

  • Liked — Cleanliness, price & location, location, location
  • Disliked — It's Paris - noise, smoke odour........
