The Costes is still the Queen of all design hotels. Anyone complaining about bad service and attitude must understand that this is only true if you don't fit in there (looks, dress code, habitus, attitude, celebrity status - the level is HIGH!). Otherwise you will have a fantastic time. The Costes' attitude is a necessary mechanism to keep the crowd that good. For more than a decade the Costes succeeds miraculously !!!

That's a difference to other "design hotels" where the staff are less trained and less knowledgeable and really tend to think they are cooler than all their guests. Then the good guests don't come back and the hotel needs to accept the rather mediocre crowd. Then the good times are over. But that will hopefully never be true for the Costes.

We have not stayed at the hotel YET......but visit the Cafe every time we go to Paris. One of my favorites for vibe, people watching and cocktail sipping. Yes its overpriced, snobby and pretentious........when in Paris.....

To visit Paris and not stay at Hotel Costes should be considered a crime. The ambiance, decor and attention to detail is outstanding. The food and service are exquisite. The room overlooking the courtyard had an amazing view. this Hotel is an experience in itself!!! I loved it.

This is a unique hotel. It is in the best location it looks and operates like no other hotel I have been to. You walk into the bar restaurant on entering so straight into an area with a buzz and plenty of style then on through to reception which is still part of the bar. The rooms are a mix between modern and old school French brothel. The Pool in the basement is stunning and the treatments are great. The service is very good. All the people on here who don't like it must have an inferioroirty complex. If you don't feel comfortable in a trendy hotel go else were. I could not fault costes and will be back soon
