On our trip to Ireland we decided to stay one night in the Wexford area, so that the 'bird-watcher' in our group could visit the Wexford Wildfowl Reserve.
We expected the great reviews of Maple Lodge to be a bit 'exaggerated' - but they were not!! We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived.
The room were very nice, and very clean! And yes, the pancaces are to die for!! Margaret kindly gave us the recipe, but I think the atmosphere of the breakfast-room at Maple Lodge will be difficult to re-create at home..
A 10 mins walk from the B&B we had dinner at a very good restaurant, recommended by Margaret. The rooms do not have tea making facilities, but this is not a problem. There is a nice lounge where you can have tea and coffee (or bring a bottle of wine) and have a chat with the other guests.
All in all we were very pleased with our stay at Maple Lodge, and will definitely be coming back!
