“Search no more, stay here and you won't be dissapointed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 May 2010

Fantastic stay. Phil is beyond compare and makes you feel at ease at once. The attention to details is evident with everything provided you may need to make your stay just right. Stayed at 5 different places in as many days and this once was the best. Facility is spotless and has the feel of your own house. Breakfast was a great made to order, fresh flowers on the table and again, great service. Less than 5 min from downtown with a host of restaurants to choose from, Phil can provide the direct you may need.

“Easy walk away from the city centre, great B & B”

Stayed on May 9th and 10th.

Rosquil House is currently the highest rated bed and breakfast in Kilkenny on TripAdvisor and after staying there for a couple of nights, I could easily see why. This is a b & b with hotel-like amenities, yet never without the warmth and hospitality of a traditional bed and breakfast. It is about 15 minutes away from the city centre on foot, in a quiet residential neighborhood. It is a pleasant, easy walk to the city centre and Rhoda gave us fantastic directions upon our arrival, along with recommended places to eat for dinner. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom had great water pressure, and the overall facility was just spotless. Breakfast was cooked to order - I had a very delicious smoked salmon omelette and my husband had the traditional Irish breakfast - and there was continental option as well so you could actually have both. We never felt so well-fed on our trip! I can't wait to come back to Kilkenny and when I do, I will be staying at Rosquil House again for sure.

“Nice B&B, would recommend to my family and friends”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2010

My husband and I just returned from our trip to Ireland. We spent one night at the Rosequil House and enjoyed our stay. Immediately upon arrival, our hostess had a multitude of maps and suggestions for us on how to spend our limited time (only one day!) in Kilkenny. She recommended some great restaurants as well as gave us some planning tips on how to drive (and where to stop on the way to) to our next destination.

The B&B is a bit of a walk into town (I did not realize this prior to booking), but certainly manageable, about 15 minutes. The room was clean and comfortable. We were in one of the front rooms of the house which are closer to the main road so there was a bit of road traffic noise throughout the night. Bathroom was large.

Breakfast was one of the best we had in Ireland. We ordered specialty omelets instead of the full (HUGE) Irish breakfast. Tasty.

We would definitely go back and recommend it!

“Wonderful, modern B&B with great hosts.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 April 2010

We stayed for only one night and our hosts, Rhoda and Phil, were so wonderful. Rhoda gave us tips on restaurants and other activities. The rooms are large and comfortable and the entire decor is very modern and well styled. Definitely the best B&B we stayed in on our trip to Ireland. The breakfasts were also wonderful, again, my favorite in Ireland- scones, fresh bread, fruit with cream, homemade granola and an omelet as you like it. They were not a "traditional" irish breakfast, but to be honest I appreciated that after so much meat at other B&B's. We actually got stranded for four days due to that Iceland volcano and decided to head down to Kilkenny back to Rosquil house to stay again since we enjoyed it so much. I highly recomend this B&B. Has free parking and is within walking distance from the city center.

“the epitome of excellent warmth and hospitality”

My mom and I (I am a college student) decided to have a "girls trip" to Ireland over my spring break and we stayed in Kilkenny at Rosquil. What a wonderful place!! Rhonda and her husband were warm and friendly and helpful...I had a HUGE suitcase with me and they kindly lugged that monster of a case up the stairs to our spacious room. The beds were so comfy and though Rosequil is situated slightly outside the town center, we wre plied with maps and ideas for how to spend the day. We found it a lovely 20 minute walk into town. Of course, this was fortified by a MAGNIFICENT breakfast. I have been to many B&B and I can easily say that this is one of the best. Scones, the most delicious and moist fruitbreak and some wonderful sort of cinnamion pear bread, pears stewed in more cinnimin sticks and plums equally dainlty spiced were absolute perfection as were our omlettes. It was really fun bc the food was not just your average scrmabled eggs and bacon fare, but really really delicious and different. We could not wait to wake up the nest day and see what was on for breakfast! We had such a lovely time and would go back in a heartbeat...indeed we certaily plan on doing so!
