we held our wedding reception in the Ballygarry hotel on the 6th aug 2010 and i cannot say enough about how wonderful the hotel was. management and staff could not do enough to help, all guests very satisfied with the fantastic meal and service. everybody went over and above the call of duty to ensure our day went flawlessly
thanking you all so much. Annmarie
Ballygarry is a haven of peace and quiet with all your needs taken care of. We booked a junior suite for two nights and the room was lovely - nicely decorated, very clean and well equipped. There were three of us and I needed an extra towel and which was given to us within a few minutes of requesting it. The DVD in the room was very handy and they have a selection of DVDs at reception. My husband and son watched a DVD and I spent some time in the thermal suite with is fantastic. The outdoor tub was really relaxing and the relaxation room really lived up to its name. The changing room in the Spa is the best equipped I have seen anywhere. We had one dinner included and the food was delicious, as was the breakfast. All in all I would highly recommend Ballygarry House but it is probably most suitable for couples or singles as there isn't a lot for children to do.
very friendly staff, clean comfortable room, great choice in restaurant, spa treatments were excellent all in all a perfect trip...........incredible views from the outdoor hot tub
We are currently at the Ballygarry. The hotel is lovely on the inside, rooms are small and the bathrooms are nice given showers and tubs (often you don't have both). However, the double bed is actually two beds put together which is horrible if you have any back issues and forget about romance -- you fall through the cracks. The breakfast which comes with the room also varies in quality. The food on the buffet is hot and replenished often, but the staff in the restaurant clearly need a vacation or something. The service is brusque and rude, expect dishwater level coffee and burn toast -- which arrives about the time you have finished your breakfast. No special orders are accepted so if there is something you want that is unusual... go elsewhere. Small things like improving service and the quality of coffee would go a long way towards getting a good start to the day.
I would be slow to recommend this place given the exorbitant cost and what you get for the your money. BTW the hotel cost is per person which is outrageous so a room charge at 80euroes for a family of three becomes 240 euros! Caveat emptor
