We booked at Claremount House for 96 Euros for one night (+ 3% fee for paying by credit card). This was the most expensive place we stopped during our week in Ireland, so we expected something special. The welcome from Anna was friendly, with tea and biscuits available on arrival. However we then found that there were no tea or coffee facilities in the room - there were also signs up stating that we could not eat or drink in our own bedroom - we did not think this was particularly hospitable. The walk into Galway was pleasant enough, but it was a long trek, so would not recommend to those who do not fancy lots of walking. Breakfast was good in the morning. but we did not feel that we got value for money.

My wife and I had been travelling through Ireland and staying at B&B's throughout. We found that some large B&B's are fine, but relatively impersonal. Anna, Stephen and family however brought warm hospitality into the experience, which really made a difference for us. Always with our day tours they were extremely helpful with recommendations, things to see and things to skip. Breakfasts were expertly prepared by Stephen, who in a former life owned a restaurant. But more than that, Anna and Stephen welcomed us as if we were family, serving tea and bread when my wife was feeling sick mid-day, helping us figure out best running routes in town, talking about differences in US and Irish culture. We really enjoyed the experience so much that we may just go back to Galway just to visit again.

My favourite thing about staying here was the standard of beds/pillows,alomst better then my own at home! When we arrived to the door, the smell of fresh baked bread made our decision to stay very simple. The breakfast was to die for with stunning views over looking the ocean-beautiful even on a stormy day. My husband and I stayed for two nights and the service we recieved from Steven and Anna on resteraunts to visit and local attrations was brilliant. We felt we were part of the family leaving and will return for sure- even if its just to sleep in those beds!

Upon our arrival, Ana and Stephen warmly welcomed us and brought some tea and other refreshment. Our rooms were very comfortable and clean, and the beds were great! Claremount House is a family home, yet there is privacy and a freedom to set your own schedule. Ana and Stephen were most helpful with suggestions on the local scene and travel tips. We thoroughly enjoyed our three days at Claremount House.
