The reviews seemed like it was a good choice for a 5 day stay. The room was nice--bright but had no airconditioning! Galway was warm when we arrived. There was only one window we could open to let air in--and that faced the bus station! --and the afternoon sun. As it was the only source of air, we could not close the window to keep-out the noise of the pedestrians and traffic below ( we were on the 3rd floor). I guess the way the buildings were situated, the acoustics were greatly enhanced. The only time some quiet was enjoyed was around 2am - 6am.
From the day we arrived until we left-the phone in our room did not work . If i wanted to make a local call--I had to go down to the reception desk. They tried to figure-out what was wrong, but eventually nothing was done.
The breakfast menu was nothing out of the usual. But I did notice that they were not in the habit of replenishing food items on the breakfast table. Breakfast starts at 7:15--if you came around 8am there would be hardly any fruit, yoghurt or pastries left.
Overall--i can't say that the Forster Court was exceptional. I liked that the bathroom had lots of counter space. It was good that the rooms were renovated--perhaps that was the only reason we decided to stay put. And that would be the only reason for any recommendation.
