Was on a 5 day business trip to Galway and stayed in the Anno Santo Hotel for 4 nights mid-week. Its about a 5 to 10 minute walking distance to Galway City Centre which is realistically out of walking distance however which is a shame, I would have liked to be closer to the city centre but its in a very quiet peaceful location close to the coast so it was a fair trade off especially on the morning one of my meetings was cancelled and I got to stay in bed all day...a rare thing for me! Not the most modern hotel, rooms where basic which suited me as I wasn’t planning on spending allot of my time in Galway confined to my room. My only criticism would be the small TV’s they have in the rooms, a slightly bigger one would have been nice. The atmosphere was very quiet, friendly and relaxed especially in the dining area and bar, which is small but cosy especially on a cold night which there were plenty of last week :(
The internet wireless access was a great service which I used a fair bit and well worth mentioning and a welcome change since you usually have to pay extra in most hotels for internet access but the best thing about this hotel was the service and staff, extremely friendly and helpful, nearly made it seem like a home away from home which is a rare thing these days I think.
All in all a very pleasant little hotel which just has that little bit of charm and warmth allot of others don’t – maybe it was the small TVs
